徒步米尔福德

远足行头

我有双很不错的远足鞋，但裤子貌似就没那么拉风了。一直想找这么一条，可又不知道要找什么样的。这也就是我总对选购远足裤不满意的原因了。欢迎各位出谋划策！要暖和，要舒服，俯身拍照片的时候不可以往下出溜儿，也不要太土哈！这些要求不是很贪心吧？ :)

每日一瞥——徒步米尔福德

绕路到了米尔福德（Milford），邂逅了这样一片失落世界中的树林。右侧可以看到著名的麦特尔峰（Mitre Peak）。充足持续的水分供给使得这里草木茂盛。这种湿润甚至有些过了头，因为我身后还有一挂巨大的瀑布，日夜为周围万物披上一层雾的外衣。

    Kathmandu has a good variety of pants.Here in Australia you pay $10.00 to join the club then on special day during of the year members have a day to do shopping at a lower rate,its called summit club. ( Very nice photo ,like the depth. ) There are many photographers out there that like myself have keep sake pictures of travel or what ever.Many are not so good, could be due to many things. Since Trey mentioned LR 4 and his presets I thought I would give it a try.We cannot always pick the weather specially when on tour and sometimes our pictures are not what we saw.I have been holding on to mine as they are memorabilia of my life not that the photos are any good. Those out there like myself who are ammeters get hold of LR 4 then get the bundle of presets from this blog. I cannot tell you what a difference these presets make to some of my pictures from way back which i thought were just keep sakes now suddenly they are brought back to life.I feel I am able to show people some of these shots now as they are alive.Now I am working what I can keep and what I can turf out.Thanks Trey they are truly worth having and playing around with,not forgetting the fun side of it.

    Hey Trey. I rarely post on your site but I’m a long time follower. That said, your pants concerns were the same as mine. I’ve been through the “dorky” and the “low-riders” which are frustrating to say the least so I would recommend the Mountain Hardware Piero pants. They have a soft lining around the waste which makes them super comfortable combined with a bit of spandex in the material for some stretchy. Also they take a belt and they don’t seem to ride down when I’m hunched over looking at my viewfinder. Best of all in my opinion is the fact that they intelligently made a bit of a larger pant leg opening so they easily fit over most boots.
    I’ve got others that I have to fiddle with leg zippers at the bottom to do that which is frustrating. Very durable and come with a lifetime warranty (for pants!! I know).

    ditto on the mountain hardwear. There are also some nice convertable/non-convertible with lots of nice pockets from NorthFace . Another great Euro brand is “Fjallraven” from Sweden- maybe you have them in NZ. But MtHW is great so try there various styles.

    When you say “warm”, Trey, do you mean insulated, or just something that blocks the wind a little?

    On the extreme end are guide pants: water-resistant or proof, windproof, thick, flexible trousers that are somewhat like light snow pants. Eddie Bauer and Patagonia make them, but I’m sure there are other brands. I have no experience with these but at least I can bring them to your attention. They get good reviews – my brother-in-law wears them all the time.

    For a more traditional hiking pant you might look at the Prana Stretch Zion (comes in convertible and non-convertible). I just got a pair but haven’t field tested them. People rave about them. They have really stretchy nylon that makes for easy flexibility of the knees. They have one zippered side pocket in addition to the usual four around the waist. And there’s a built-in adjustable belt – as well as belt loops. No insulation, just somewhat water-resistant and they should be fairly durable.

    Good luck! Finding the perfect pant is practically impossible. :p

    Hi Trey,

    Mountain Hardwear does make some really good gear. My wife and I both have MH in our closets. Being Canadian I am partial to Arc’teryx, their Gamma LT being very nice. If you are looking for a place to try on gear, head into Small Planet Sports in Queenstown and ask for Thomas, the manager. He is a ski guide from France and incredibly knowledgable. We ski guided together in Japan last year so if you make it to the shop, tell him I sent you.

    Prana is great stuff–ended up wearing a pair of Eastwood pants for the better part of a week in Alaska on a recent trip. Perfect! Need to buy a couple more pair!!

    Boy, I’m really going to have to head to NZ and do some hiking with you. Count me in for you next photo walk. As for pants, I like North Face hiking pants. They are made of a nice heavy material that is durable yet cool. They also have the zip of legs and convert to shorts…but don’t look too dorky. On top of all that, they have a great built in belt. Good stuff!
