Wonderfully composed photo.  I can definitely understand what you mean about finding it difficult to just take in the beauty and not notice everything around you.  Every once in a while when I’m traveling I have to force myself to just put the camera away and just take things in without worrying about what might make for a good photo.  It can be a hard balance between wanting to get good photos and enjoying what’s on the other side of the lens.

Sooo beautiful……so sharp and green is the landscape – just as I would expect it to look there!

Well this photo has everything to make a great composition – a little path leading you in, foreground interest – background interest – a little water – a great brooding sky – what else could you want?   Oh, I know – a little red boat on the water,  he he.  I know what you mean by being always on as a photographer.  This was especially true when I was doing some sports photography.  With  eye on the viewfinder and the other eye watching out for flying pucks or baseballs I never actually got to see the game.  And I learned early not to use a flash when shooting a at the hockey goaltender.  They don’t like being blinded with a puck flying at them.  Fortunately I could run faster than he could with all his gear on.

The Hamlet was one of my favorite places visiting France.  There is just something about the excess and frivolity of the whole thing that I found fascinating.

You chose a great day for a photo walk. Southern California had one of the best days weather-wise today, or at least I think so.

You’re right about always being “on” as a photographer.  Geese, since I have upgraded my equipment and beome more experience, I’ve noticed that happening more and more.  Thought it was just me…  It doesn’t seem to make a difference if I have a camera or not. Glad to know I’m not the lone ranger out there!
