A Fun Day at Pinterest – Stuck in Customs

A Fun Day at Pinterest

A Fun Day at Pinterest

I went up to Pinterest recently to give a talk about The Future of Photography (and various other things), and I hung around after the event to snap a few photos. I’m an active Pinterest user (Trey Ratcliff on Pinterest), so it was fun to be there in the offices and see what everything was like. Rather than give you a full description here, I’ll just add to the captions beneath.

If there was a flower on a desk in the offices, you can be assured it was not the desk of a dude.

The Pinterest fridge has a ton of tasty things for the employees to come grab any time of the day or night…

There are nice little sayings on the wall like this… very few of them are in Helvetica.

Ben Silberman is not only the CEO of Pinterest, but he’s also a serious photographer. Before we got down to the meat of our meeting, we spent about half an hour geeking out about photography equipment!

What is a Pingineer?

Here’s the “Sock Bun” meeting room – each room is named after a topic that went viral on Pinterest.

There is an area in the back full of a bunch of Pinterest t-shirts, including this adorable tiny-sized one for kids.

They hang up pro-Pinterest tweets on the wall of the lunch room. They put the anti-Pinterest tweets in one of the bathroom stalls.

Little Pinterest flower pots are lined up, waiting for someone to take them back to their desk and let them grow…

Here’s the camera that I used to make many of the images on this board. The other camera I used was the Sony NEX-7.
