Constructing the Head

Daily Photo – Constructing the Head

This was a really cool art installation at Burning Man 2019 by Matt Schultz and The Pier Group called The Head Maze. So much planning and work goes into these things, so I like to take a wander around as they are being constructed to see what it takes to put them together. It’s almost as cool to see as the finished products.

Dreaming of the Desert

Daily Photo – Dreaming of the Desert

Starting to really think about Burning Man again… it was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 but looks like things will be on for 2022! (Variants permitting) This is one of my favorite sculptures from the last event in 2019 ( Broken but Together by Michael Benisty ). I can’t wait to see what I stumble across in the night this time…

Temple of Psychedelic Awakening, Burning Man

Daily Photo – Temple of Psychedelic Awakening, Burning Man

Every year Burning Man has a different “temple” that represents a wide range of spiritual groundings. While not the official temple, this “Totem of Confessions” held some of Timothy Leary’s ashes that Susan Sarandon brought along. I think she just travels with lots of ashes of famous pyshconauts. I’m not sure. This is a gothic cathedral-style piece plastered in Kafkaesque photo collages of animals and people inside. Tons of people went inside the 60-foot high structure, which had a confession booth and eerie peephole rooms. In the right context, psychedelics can give people direct access to the divine in the universe and inside of themselves, so these are truly gifts to humanity to help spread consciousness and love.

Adventures on the OpenSea

Dipping into NFTs with my Burning Man images has been a fun experience so I’ve selected a handful of my other art, converted into animated content and listed on OpenSea. You’ll find a whole range of options from straight up purchases to auctions and a couple of other twists. For example, if you’ve been considering one of my massive fine art prints for a while then this is a great way to get in on the action, you can bid on one as an NFT and receive the 1.66 x 2.5 meter physical print if you win!

Here is a little preview of one NFT…

All Systems Go!

Today’s big news is that the new NFTs are now live on Makersplace take a look here! As with the previous creations a chunk of the sale goes to the artists and subjects of the images with some also going to charity. I’ve also taken on board feedback from the Foundation experience. This time round the process to get involved is much easier as you can pay by card or ETH… auctions start at $1 with a wide range of configurations available including probably my best-known Burning Man image as a 1 of 1 Edition, an image which hung in the Smithsonian and some of my favourite scenes across the years.

It’s probably also worth saying that for the video NFTs I’ll be providing the full quality video file to the winner(s) which means you can enjoy things like the Temple Sunrise in 4K as a wallpaper on your UHD TV or high res display nice and easily.

Stay awesome.

The 24 Hour Countdown Begins

Just over a month ago we raised a whole bunch of money (over $10k) for charity and artists on my first NFT auction. So, let’s do it again! Starting tomorrow, and you can preview some of the art now, I’m going live on Makersplace with a new batch of Burning Man goodness.

The good news for any of you who struggled a bit with Foundation and cryptocurrency wallets is that Makersplace accept card payments and do all of the crypto stuff for you. The best of both worlds and a chance to help out some artists who have struggled through the pandemic! Here’s a little low-res preview of one of the items available.

New NFT Drop Incoming

Cool Video

I’m not sure how I came across this video… maybe a recommendation after my Mooji meditation – but I think it’s pretty cool.

And now for that NFT News…

NEW NFT Goodness!

Here’s a sneak preview of the drop coming in just a little while! It’s my first time on Makersplace, and I have no idea how it will go! What I can tell you is that it will be a lot more straightforward for you all to get involved in as Makersplace allow card payments, not just payments via a Cryptocurrency wallet. 🙂

Passport Sunday Blast from the Past

I was just showing this video to some friends, and that reminded me of the “Making Of” video! That is now one of many videos unlocked with your Passport membership which release every Sunday!

And here is the Passport vid…

The Making Of 80 Days

How about a blast from the past? Here’s one of my first how-to videos. I just watched it again, and it’s kinda lame… I’m not really selling it, I know, but it’s interesting to see how much better I’ve become at explaining things. Anyway, enjoy this 18-minute video of me rambling and trying to explain something.
