Inside the Trap
Daily Photo – Inside the Trap
I’ve shared images from this place before, but only the outside, I think. It was a whole church like structure that some crazy art people managed to build in the desert, and it was set up like a mouse trap, balanced on a stick, tilted on one end like it could come slamming down at any time. Here’s what the inside looked like. Such a cool ceiling installation.
And Then They Were Gone

So many moments at Burning Man are fleeting, just like this. I was lining up my shot through the dust with the silhouette of the cool art and then, out of nowhere, there was the rider and their bike. Before I knew it, they were gone, disappeared into the cloud never to be seen again.
Something you don’t see often

For a while I was a Nikon guy, then of course I made that wise decision to move early to the Sony mirrorless cameras… oh, the hate I got for that! I’ve since dabbled with Hasselblad and Fuji but what I had completely forgotten is that I once took a Pentax to Burning Man. It may even have been the first one I attended. It did not bad! Here’s an example of a very rare Trey Ratcliff Pentax shot…
Sunrise Balloon Fun

I happened upon this scene at Burning Man in 2018 at sunrise… or maybe it was sunset. I’m terrible at updating my cameras clock from country to country! Anyway, it was such an interesting performance to watch. I’m always in awe of people who can make moving in these sorts of scenarios so graceful. Takes a wild amount of muscle control I’d imagine.
