The new iPad! Photography! +Leo Laporte, +Andy Ihnatko, +Eric Kim, +Victor Cajiao, +Teresa Stover,+RC Concepcion, and +Steve Stanger join me for a fun discussion about iPads and photography with a healthy sprinkling of street photography thrown in for your pleasure. And see that photo in the thumbnail? That’s a sample of Miss +Teresa Stover, who shared her art along with all the other guests… it turned out much better than the selfie that +Leo Laporte took of himself in the forest…

And, as usual, we close the show by finding other photographers on G+ to mention… so be sure to check out the “G+ Discoveries for the week!” +Peter From, +Michiel de Lange, +Nathan Wirth, +Niki Aguirre, +SwitcherMark P, +Ed King, and +Thomas Leuthard.

Idea for Facebook Interest Lists

I’d like to do an “Interest List” for the community here at StuckInCustoms.com — since MOST of you are on Facebook, it might be fun to have a list with a lot of you in it. The only problem is that I don’t have time to maintain the list. Who would like to do it? You’ll have to go through and add a bunch of people now and in the future… so it will be a lot of work… but let me know! 🙂

Below are some of the lists that I already made…

Disney Cruise

I’m going on the maiden voyage of the new Disney ship next week…  I’m really looking forward to it.  I’ve never been on one of these Disney cruises, so this will be an interesting experience.  The whole family is going, so it should be a good time! 🙂

BTW, Disney is not paying for the trip or anything… people sometimes suspect that I get everything for free in exchange for blog posts, but that isn’t the case...  If a company does sponsor something, I’ll be sure to let you know… not that you would really care anyway… just letting you know the ground rules around here 🙂

Daily Photo – The Disney Temple

I put up a photo of a temple in Oahu yesterday, and it occurred to me that this is just another form of the temple…  sort of a modern-day worship of spas and relaxation!  You can make an argument that, in many ways, this is just as beautiful as those revered buildings of another age…

This is the Aulani, a Disney resort on Oahu.  Tom and I drove over here to take photos one evening.  I didn’t stay here overnight, but I did stay late into the evening to take photos.  There’s also a big beach and a ton of cool spots to take photos.  I think I pretty much filled up a card with all the photo ops!

Temple in the Jungle Highlands

Video – PhotoWalk Fun!

I honestly get a little confused about what videos I have posted here.  I can’t remember!  I’m producing so many videos lately that I lose track.  So, rather than perhaps forgetting entirely, I think I will opt on the side of posting videos twice, especially if they are good.  Also, I know some of you don’t come every day… so this also serves as a nice “repeat” in case you missed it the first time.

We did this hangout the night after the big LA PhotoWalk.  It was a great event, and we share a lot of photos as well…

Daily Photo – Temple in the Jungle Highlands – Byodo-In

I would never have guessed that something as ornate and unique as this would be buried up in the deep jungled highlands of Oahu!

It is a popular destination, and I guess people in Oahu know about it, but I had never heard of such a place.  This is the Byodo-In Temple, and I happened to arrive right when the sun came out.  This is a nice time because the morning fog and storms had left many layers of clouds and mist in the background, which gave everything a very unusual feel…

Facebook Interest Lists

I decided to do something different when I curated some Interest Lists over at Facebook.  Come see and subscribe!

Keynote at Kent State

Are you in the Ohio area and want to come to a great event?  The admission is free and I’ll be talking a bit about the future of photography, sharing, and the internet.  I think.  Actually, I like to throw in a bunch of wildcards that I’m not even fully aware of until a few hours before the talk.

Daily Photo – Chinaman’s Hat

Also known as Mokolii, this distinctive island seems to stay in your view for a few hours as you go along the coast of Oahu.

EXIF-hunters will notice that I used my D3S to take this photo instead of my D3X.  I had to give that D3X a rest after getting it too wet over the previous four days of rainfall.  In fact, this was the first opening of the skies after an endless torrent of water and storm.  I was so happy to see some dynamic skies and be in the perfect spot when it happened…

Daily Photo – Oahu Vacation

Well, it wasn’t really a vacation.  It was work.  Hard, wet, slogging work.  Don’t let this picture fool you.  Okay, you can let it fool you a little bit…  This is about the only sun I got the whole trip.  90% of it was me being extremely wet and rather physically and emotionally drained. Things were so wet, in fact, that they declared part of Hawaii a disaster area!  I was there for about a week with Tom Anderson, and he was so excited to show me his second home… he had big dreams of fancy-free days, taking photos on sunny beaches… be we had very little of that…  However, I did my best to produce a lot of images while there… here’s the first one I wanted to share with you.

Uploaded pics from Hawaii

Here are a few older pictures from our time in Hawaii. We went to Lanai and to Kuaui. In Lanai, we actually stayed at the same place that Bill Gates got married – he also bought out the entire island for his wedding. It was a slow week, so they gave us our own butler at this place. I had no idea what to do with a butler at a beach resort, but most of her activity involved getting us fruit and fruit-related objects.

In Kuaui we stayed at another pretty place… it was much more tropical and Lost-like in Kuaui… anyway, here are some pics:
