The Mirrored Tea Room in Venice – Stuck in Customs

The Mirrored Tea Room in Venice

The Grand Prize Winner!

We’ve been doing an amazing photo contest over at Viewbug that collected about 20,000 photos. There were so many good ones… it was pretty much impossible to figure one out! Quite tortuous, really!

The winner gets to come to New Zealand to spend a week at our Photo Workshop Adventures — it’s gonna be so epic! Thanks again to the amazing Ritz-Carlton for helping out with this prize!

And here’s the amazing winning photo. Now this is my kinda shot… it’s got it all, a beautiful sky with a perfectly composed landscape. The colors and the fantasy-wonder of it all is right up my alley. I love it when these photos are somewhere between fantasy and reality. I also really like the soft bowl of the grasses in the bottom of the photo; it has a very welcoming and inviting feel. The whole thing is just a pleasure to look at! Great job Amanda Hughes!

Amazing Runner Up Number 1!

This guy is insane! Man those are some of the best star photos that I’ve ever seen in my entire life… and I’ve seen oooooodles! And then I went to his website (which has the awesome name AstroPhotoBear.com) and was even more amazing. That photo on his front page just blows me away… it reminds me I have to get out there more to take night photos. Very inspirational!

Amazing Runner Up Number 2!

Now this gal (Lisa Holloway) is amaze-maze! I’ve actually followed her work for years. I actually just was sitting here wondering if she’s won many awards on Viewbug, and I saw she has won OVER 21,000 AWARDS! Are you kidding me… wow she deserves it. What a talent. I want her to come take pictures of me running through a field!

Yesterday’s Photo Mystery

By the way, if you could not figure out yesterday’s photo, just look at it upside down… and then it will be easier to figure out. No photoshop magic or anything… just cheeky crop

Daily Photo – The Mirrored Tea Room in Venice

This place is actually very easy to find but I didn’t find it till the end! It’s right off Saint Mark’s square, so it’s definitely worth a stop, either for photography or for tea and cake! I felt in a bit of a rush, so I didn’t really get to sit down and take some time to myself, which is a shame… but sometimes that’s the way your day works out!
