Full Speed Engines on the Disney Cruise

Next Disney Cruise

We liked the last one so much that we booked another cruise. This time, we are going to try the Alaska cruise, which should be pretty awesome. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the cruise, since I’m not really a cruise-kinda-guy, but the Disney ones are very nice!

Daily Photo – Full Speed Engines on the Disney Cruise

I woke up early almost every morning on the Disney Cruise to see what I could see. When you can see the horizon, it makes it pretty predictable that you’ll get a good sunrise. I did go through that painful routine of waking up early and staggering over to the window to open the curtains and look at the clouds. Whenever I saw there were just a few clouds, I’d go for it! Otherwise, if there were a ton of clouds or rain, I would just get back in bed. I swear that is one of the best feelings in the world!

Hey Trey. Love the picture as always.

Probably not the right forum to ask this question but the original thread is years old, I was wondering whether you still use Lucis Pro? On the Mac? Because apparently they stopped supporting a Mac version…And neither does it work on CS 6….

You want to get down to the engine rooms to take a few shots next time. I’m on my way next saturday in the opposite direction, Antarctica on a 12 flight, there and back just to have a look. Nice pic!

We wanted to do a Disney Alaska in 2014, but it looks like all 4 ships will be in the Caribbean all that year. Mind you, part of me kinda wants skip the cruise and go straight to Gates of the Arctic NP, but the wife has already vetoed. Oh well.

My last cruise was to Alaska, but it was almost 10 years ago before I got into digital photography. All I had was a point & shoot with tremendous shutter lag, and that’s what convinced me to buy a DSLR.

Now I’m really itching to go back to Alaska for some photos. Had a great time on climbing on the glacier, flying through Misty Fjords and hiking through the woods (fell on my ass three times and the guide called me out as an example of the right way to fall). I hope to do better if I’m carrying my camera gear next trip.

Probably won’t do a cruise, since I’m a solo traveler and they charge quite a bit more for folks like us. I think you’ll have a rich environment for photography. Have fun.

I was on the Fantacy not long after you. It was fun trying to take the same photos as you did. Great experience. When is your Alaska cruise?
