Colored Lanterns

Extended Interview from Australian TV

Here’s the longer cut of the interview… actually, I think this is uncut!

Daily Photo – Chinese Lanterns

Whenever I walk around taking photos, I usually have two cameras with me. My second camera usually has a 50mm prime, or something along these lines. I capture thousands and thousands of little photos, but I hardly ever post them. I don’t know why… maybe it is sort of the one-photo-per-day thing here on the blog. I guess I could post more, but I don’t want it to get too busy… or… well, I don’t know. I don’t have a great reason. But, anyway, here is one of those little photos that I take with my walkin-around-camera from a small shop in Beijing.

Very nice Trey, I normally shoot these kind of shots when going into shops, always find things from other countries fascinating

Nice shot. Can I ask why you used ISO 2500? You could have used a slower shutter speed and pushed the iso down to say 800. I’m sure you had a reason.

I love these colors, the lines, how you lead the eye. And here I am gushing over one of those “little photos”. As always, exquisite work, Trey.

  • Great colors and depth of field!

Great picture, when I saw the title I thought for a second you meant the different colored versions of the Green Lantern Corps…yes I am a dork.

    Thanks! 🙂

  • Trey Ratcliff

It was just handheld and I wanted a fast shutter speed. That high ISO does not add much noise at all with these big sensors.

Love your last comment in the Australian interview Trey, sums up my description and thoughts about photography perfectly
