Daily Photo – Boat on Oahu Beach

You can drive along the beach for hours and hours in Oahu but miss what is actually there. Often times, there is a row of trees or houses that block the actual beach, but it’s hard to know what is just on the other side!

Luckily, Tom and I walked through some of the fauna and found this scene. It was all set up so perfect — and there I was with my camera (which isn’t THAT much of a surprise).

Wow – beautiful – this was a great find for a shot – love the water – blue green & looks like diamonds!

Are you nuts? That’s not just a “Boat” on Oahu Beach! That’s a Hobie 16 catamaran! Hobies scream through the water on any day with half-decent wind. They’re a legend! If you’ve never been sailing on a Hobie, I think it’s time you fixed that. Have someone who knows what they’re doing take you out. But I don’t recommend bringing your camera on that ride. Just sayin’. : )

The Hobie is a sweet little sail-er. Get her healed over hard and the only part of your body left on the boat is your feet! The waves crashing beneath your back, the wind whipping through the sails — oh yeah.. it’s an awesome feeling. And this is an awesome shot!

Trey, beautiful scene but the processing looks a bit off. The top of the sail is just too dark and not very natural to the scene. Still like the composition though, wish I was back in Hawaii.

The beach about a quarter mile away (in the distance) from this spot is Lanikai – THE best beach I’ve ever been to.

I head up there a couple times a month — it’s rare to catch it without any people, but it’s absolutely one of our best beaches.
