A Night at the Museum

The New Commenting System

Now the new comment system has been there for about a week. What do you think?

I really like it. I think it is cool how you can see other discussions and trail off to read what people are writing on other posts. It’s also been more convenient for me, personally, because i can put in embedded replies on occasion. Anyway, thanks again for all the comments – I read them all! :)

Daily Photo – A Night at the Museum

This is one of the final photos I was able to squeeze off before the security guards nabbed me. Arg! I wanted to get so many more… but you know, you know… it’s the same old story.

Anyway, if you ever visit Paris, you absolutely need to make it over here to the museum of natural history. It’s known to the locals, but not to visitors. All the other sites in Paris are great, of course… but if you have a penchant for science and a love of crazy interior design, this is the place for you!

Love this place, it’s so dark and old and “stuffed” with animals (pun intended)

    It’s here: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=48.842082,+2.356267&num=1&t=v&z=17&iwloc=A

Oh wow ! I really hope one day I have managed to coordinate eye and hands to the degree I can make photos like you. There is so much to discover without being too overloaded

Where’s Noah, and who stole the Ark. Never seen a museum as nice as this but have see all the animals alive in Africa,Botswana,Vic Falls, Swaziland and what was Rhodesia. If ever you do go to Africa go to Botswana Okovango Swamps it will blow your mind and a must toward the end of the dry season”September” thanks for sharing.

I was actually wondering if it was you that read and responded to the comments, as a lot of busy bloggers will hire someone to do it for them. It is nice to know you still read all the comments and reply personally… good on you for that! I love the museum shot, it is a little like looking through one of those kaleidoscope thingy’s as it is so busy… but it’s a good kind of busy…

Had to checkout the new comments section and it is a big improvement, cleaner, neat, plus can’t wait for the new SmugMug Themes. Thanks for keeping us up to speed. Love the shot above, such a sweeping view…. I am just trying to see if I can find the ARK….
Here is a link to my latest SmugMug Upload from a trip to the Bodie Ghost Town. Thanks again for the platform.

When the aliens land and find all these stuffed animals, do you think they’ll do the same thing to us as some form of tribute to our society?

That’s weird, i took hundreds of pictures in this museum and never got in trouble with the security guards.

Better question … When the aliens land, do you think they’ll pose in the hatchway of their starship and stand really still so we can get HDRs of them? That will be awesome!

I heard that some guards can make it a problem, some just can’t really be bothered, but i had no trouble taking pictures, its a great building little dark inside but worth the visit.

Do you think the size of the Sony NEX would be a benefit in cases like this?

  • Stellare

I agree with you, the museum of natural history in Paris is fantastic. One of the best in the world I’d say. And a hidden treasure indeed.

    I’m ready for my picture!
