The Black Void of Couches

Flight of the Conchords

I’m excited to go see the Flight of the Conchords here in Queenstown on Sunday night. It should be a great time… I don’t know if I can grab photos or not, but I’ll take my camera(s) just in case.

If Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement have a problem with me taking photos, I’ll just explain that, in real life, I’m not that different than Jemaine’s character in Dinner With Schmucks.

Daily Photo – The Black Void of Couches

This is the amazing little restaurant that was attached to the opera in Beijing. It was built inside of an ancient farmhouse that has been converted into one of these ultra-stylish modern restaurants.

By the way, this is one of my strangest photo titles ever… I was feeling a little weird.

Well, I can understand “void of couches”. You always end up loosing stuff when sitting in a couch, stuff you don’t miss until at some point you start cleaning out the couch because the tv remote slipped in between the cushions and coins, buttons and candy magically start appearing.

    Interesting place!

the details you brought out in processing are just stunning! If you are ever thinking of doing another tutorial series, I would vote for this image is one to use! On that note, Maybe you can run a poll on which photos people are dying to see how you process ;)

    Cheers

How long after swearing of programming before void made it back into your vocabulary? :) I find myself avoiding it because it throws my brain into some sort of short circuit between linguistic and logical syntax. I’m really digging how the tiles and wood planks play well together. And.. that glowing golden orb lampy thing? It’s awesome.

The stylistic mindset to decorate a space like this really baffles me and you captured it like only you could!

Nice shot Trey, you certainly have a good eye for what will make a good shot… I think that is half the battle with photography.

If you are feeling a little weird take the bologna out of your shoes. Works every time.

It would be great to hear your Flight of the Conchords experience, you couldve followed their tweets ad taken some awesome Queenstown backdrop shots with Jermaine and Bret in the Foreground.

Would be cool to see that Couch setting with people in motion, mingling etc…
