I Love Paris

A Week at the Louvre

I have half-a-plan.  I think one summer (when it is cold in NZ), I’m going to rent a flat somewhere near the Seine for a month.  And then, every day for at least a week, I’m going to visit a different area of the Louvre with my sketchpad and snacks.   Well look… okay… I’ll just go ahead and plan on it… no need to “think” about it anymore…  I’ll just do it.  There, I talked myself into it.

Daily Photo – I Love Paris

Sometimes the most fun things to buy are things you can’t get on Amazon.  But that also means you have to carry the thing.  I have gotten a little spoiled by not-buying things in person.  Often times, I’ll just scan the image with my phone and then have Amazon ship it right to my house so I don’t have to carry the thing.  I know this is lazy, but it is also kind of cool.  But, then you are in little markets here and there and you see nice little custom-made things…  and that trick doesn’t work any more…

Charming little figurine – remind you of anyone?? Yes your idea sounds lovely for NZ winters!

Looks like a little fairy with butterfly wings priced at 4.5 euro  sweet. Like the way you captured the shot with the heart sort of faded in the back ground and like she is looking at someone as if in love. Its nice to put an interpretation to pictures sometimes as we all see things in a different way. Well captured and yes not a bad idea once you get to know the winters it will be nice else where ,and the Louvre of all places, what a break.
    Goo-day Susan from down under.

I like the idea of spending a month or so in Paris.  My dogs, however, would not be impressed with my absence.  Gotta work on that part.

Completely concur with your love of Paris. It was the city that sparked my passion for photography and I’m planning on heading over there again either in a couple of months or in the autumn to capture some of the magnificent scenes Paris has to offer.

I’m sure you mean ‘Winters’ in NZ ;-)
It’s coming up to that time of year now… The colors are beginning to turn and we are starting to get the odd frost here and there! But I love winter here, perhaps even more than summer. It’s just a very diverse and different time of year where there are some awesome things to do!

Jumping hemispheres to obtain an infinite summer. Great idea! Love the 50mm lens. I like the grain in this and was wondering if it was in camera or in post. Saw that you ramped up the ISO when I peeped at your data. Like it a lot.

One of the multitude of things I love about France…the price tag above includes tax.  SO EASY!

Trey, Great idea on spending a month a year at the Louvre. It seems whenever I’m in Paris I end up with less than a day to try & make a quick walk through, and never have time to just sit and absorb the space. Here are a few of my Paris images including a few from the Louvre.

There’s definitely enough stuff in the Louvre to fill a full week there.  I actually enjoyed d’Orsay better but there’s no doubt the Louvre has quite the impressive collection.  Watching the madness of the people cramming in around the Mona Lisa could fill an afternoon in itself.

The best gifts are things you can’t buy on Amazon.  Small shops that have items you couldn’t buy anywhere else are the place to go when traveling.
