Upcoming Disney Cruise

I’ve got an awesome cruise coming up for the maiden voyage of the Disney Fantasy.  It’s gonna be great… I’ve never been on a Disney cruise before, so it will be interesting.  This boat is supposed to be 40% bigger than the other Disney boats, so I look forward to some good photo-ops!  BTW, lest people be confused when I mention things like this, I paid for the cruise for me and my family and everything… not even any discounts or anything! :)  This is just a gentle reminder that I only talk about (and take photos of) things that are interesting to me, whether or not they are given to me for free or whether I pay for them myself.

Daily Photo – Oak on Winter Sunrise

I hiked through a frost-covered meadow in the morning to get up under this tree.  And it was one of those meadows with very long grasses that formed little frosty mounds.  They give way with each step with the sound of a tiny crunch and spring back up after you pass.  But the moisture is so light and cool, it is not even noticed until you look down and see your shoes have a slick coating of their own.

I then got up underneath this old oak tree with my wide-angle lens, aiming it in the direction of the rising sun.  Because I was so deep in the valley, the sun did not crest for another three hours, but the light dithered in different ways the whole time.

Somewhat ironic that the SouthBy photo walk will be on RAINEY street.  Rainy street.  Rainy.

Beautiful photo of the Oak on Winter Sunrise, Trey.  I love all the colors behind the old oak tree(I recall that’s in a song, the old oak tree that is).  I can remember the tune, but not the name of the song.  Now I’m singing it in my head, lol.  Darn My Yahoo isn’t having your website on their site anymore :( .  But I have your website memorized, so I can still get here.  Thanks for sharing the lovely oak tree, have a great Friday!!

Love it! The rich blues in the tree against the orange makes it really vibrate!

This is awesome!  Love the “web” that tree creates in the sky.  Great point of interest to that gorgeous sky in the background.

Trey, enjoy the Disney Cruise.  We’ve done it twice (3 day trip – Port Canaveral – Bahamas – Castaway Keys – Canaveral).   We took the kids last trip.. It was a blast.  The kids still talk about it.  You’ll enjoy it.  I’ve never done another cruise before.. I don’t think I’d try any other cruise than Disney.  It’s first class the whole way.   Oh, and like you, I paid for our trip, I don’t work for Disney either.  I just talk about stuff that’s fun for me and the fam.   I have lot of great shots from our trip. Enjoy!
