Daily Photo – Orange Queenstown Sunset

I had a late night of decadent chocolate at a great local haunt there in Queenstown.  I ended up staying later than I expected because of said decadence.  This meant I arrived back over to my rental house in Kelvin Heights as the sun was finishing its descent.  I ran down to the beach just in time to see this light.  There was a mild panic, but it was pre-soothed by the chocolate.

Wow that’s really orange.  Nice job of capturing it in a panic.

Cool Trey, I guess this is a sign you’re missing us here? Hehe… I know the chocolate you speak off all too well, good old ‘Patagonia’ on the waterfront ;-)

I had a bit of a panic myself last night actually, half of the small mountain you’ll remember near our house in Gibbston caught fire! There were some incredible photos to be taken as all hell broke loose – 20 firefighters were scrambling to control the flames tearing through the bush. I’ve put up a public album here for all those who want to take a look: http://on.fb.me/xdODRu – Here’s a teaser…

Beautiful shot Trey. I’m glad you made it to the beach in time for this. And chocolate certainly heals all. ;-P

Wowee, beautiful photo, Trey.  One of my favorites!!  It will be my new desktop background.  Chrome works differently then explorer, so I have to save it first, then go to the photo and put it on there.   Extra steps, but worth it.  Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend!! :-)

The sky is amazing and love how the light makes the water look.

Wow, wonderful photo.  Good thing you didn’t spend too long enjoying the chocolate and miss it.  The color in the sky is splendid.

We stayed in the same area last year and had a few mad dashes down to the end of the road to catch sunsets.   It was so wild and windy!  Here’s one I took – http://www.flickr.com/photos/sxbaird/5453227468/lightbox/
