Facebook Subscribe and the New Timeline

My Facebook page has been getting more and more subscribers lately, so if I was unable to friend you because I hit the 5K limit, this Subscribe option will work out well for you.  I also activated the new Timeline, but I notice not everyone has yet.  Have you done it?  I think it is kinda cool, even though I know there are a few FB-haters out there.

Daily Photo – The Old Market

I have another Disneyworld trip coming up, and I was reminded of this place.  This is Epcot, one of the best spots for photography at sunset and into the evening.

This area makes me long to go to some of these places for real.  It’s all so wonderfully fake around Disney, but that is nice in its own way.  I have several more places in the Middle East to visit, and I hope to make that happen over the next few years.  Before I actually decide on a place and land on the shores of Tripoli, I’ll be sure to blog about it!

Trey you want to visit a middle east environment go to Western China and then into Central Asia. Some of the more remote silk road town like Hotan still retain the look and feel of the old silk road.  You will find hundreds of colorful adobe villages, ancient Buddhist and Islamic Art, in an area not traveled much by photographers. Every year I try to visit these areas and this year will photo the Tea Horse Road from Pu’er through to Eastern Russia.

    Trey,
Disney is going to be open 24hrs straight for Leap Day. You may want to look into that. Dont think there will be alot of people there after 2am. Great time for empty night shots.

I think perhaps the timeline is one of the first things Facebook has done that I have liked…it actually looks like they may have had the involvement of a designer rather than relying on engineers (and I say that as an engineer myself) to make things look pretty.

Yes, the magic Kingdom in Florida and Disneyland Park in California will both be open from 6am February 29 to 6am the following morning … just finalized my plans to be in Orlando that week, and I’ll definitely be there for the chance to shoot in the Magic Kingdom at sunrise (and plenty of night-time shots as well). Only the Magic Kingdom is doing this in Florida; Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are keeping normal operating hours that day.

Steve Mann, one of the first researchers pioneering HDR, has also built wearable computers and already turned himself into a Cyborg in the 80’s.

Trey, I love all your shots of Disney World. We visit several times per year, but you always have a unique view of the things we’ve seen hundreds of times. We will be there in March, maybe we’ll run across one another.
