Daily Photo – Waiting on the Solstice Sun

Up in the northwest fjords of Iceland, the roads end but the land keeps going.

There is this distant island, pictured here, that has no roads at all. It seems so remote and… well… scary. I don’t know why I get that foreboding sense! It just feels so lonely, so far north… the cliffs are so sheer… no one to hear you scream… and these sorts of things. I do like being remote, but this is a little too remote.

The newsletter is great, I always enjoy reading it when it arrives in my inbox.

I really like the color in the water in this photo.  I’m a fan of remote places, too, but perhaps not quite that remote.

Oh wow….beautiful! Love the colors and looks like a place you could just sit and stare – it would be kinda creepy being so alone though! I love the newsletter – always enjoy seeing the photos again!

i really want to know about the RED you have :):):)

This is a really different HDR.  I like the way you left the forbidding island and the shoreline almost completely black, emphasiing the fascinating the colors in the sky and water.

The sea looks so serene it is almost foreboding. The island is veiled in mystery. I think I would like the solitude for a brief time, but I would probably be looking over my shoulder. Your description reminds me of a book I read several years ago based on the Franklin Expedition. Book link — http://www.amazon.com/Terror-Novel-Dan-Simmons/dp/0316017442/ref=cm_lmf_tit_1
