Textures

This photo below, like others you see on occasion, use a texture method that I get a lot of questions about. We have a popular Textures Tutorial here on the site that comes with a ton of different textures in case you are curious to learn more…

Daily Photo – The Long Path to the Temple of Heaven

It was a beautiful morning in Beijing. It was cool and crisp, and I walked around this historic area while locals were doing yoga and various other exercises. There are many ancient, repeating structures that cover the grounds in a very orderly manner. This is one of the many long structures that helps to connect various areas of the complex.

Very interesting texture to this photo.  I read the post out of order, skipping down to the photo and thought that the texture to the photo looked a little different, then realized you had discussed that above the photo.  I’ve never done anything with textures but it definitely gives that photo a very distinct look.

This looks like an old painting – terrific effect from the texture.  It ages the photo.

Love the ancient aged feel. Nice processing !!!

I don’t always fancy textures, but this one is executed very well!

Love the texture on this Trey.  When I was first scrolling down to the photo, I thought the tree tops that break the sky on the right were the tops of Angkor Wat – similar at least :)

What did you think of all of the people around the Temple of Heaven … I got a snap of a lady doing Tai Chi there, see attached.

Glad to see a “normal” post in between the industry talk. I’ve been to this same spot (and see the locals doing tai chi, singing, etc) but my photos don’t do this justice. Love the photo and the processing, texture was a great choice here to set the mood along with the lack of people.

Great texture photo, Trey.  I didn’t get to see it yesterday, but glad I checked it out today.  Now on to the next one.  :-)

This is a great example of enhancing a shot with textures.  Beautifully done, Trey.
