Daily Photo – Futuro House

Remember those old timey visions of the future? They usually involved people in all-white suits sashaying around hyper-realized modernist structures that were just on the edge of imagination. Most of them never came to pass, but this reminded me of one of those scenes.

I found this one via Stuck On Earth while recently in LA. It’s very close to the water processing building, which sounds incredibly boring, but it a gold mine for photos!

Trey, what a great shot. I love the futuristic look, but with that gritty edge to it.

Wow….love this – beautiful – and yes, I can see Gatsby lounging around there!

Wow, I know exactly where that spot is, and was near there at the Dorothy Chandler shooting on Christmas eve, and I didn’t even think go over there and take some shots. I won’t make that mistake next time I’m out.

Who knew a water processing plant could be so gorgeous! This is obviously shot with a wide angle lens, yet there is not distortion. So you either had the lens level (not angled up or down), or you used the perspective correction is Photoshop. If I were to bet, I’d bet on the former. At any rate it’s an awesome photo.

Very nice, Trey. I would love to see that place in person!!! Have a great Friday. Yikes, it’s almost 2012. Happy New Year in case those posting aren’t on the rest of the weekend. :-)

Great info and glad I wasn’t the only who started with the D70. I actually still have and use that camera on occasion. It’s tough as nails and has been through hell and I can’t just manage to give it up. Anyway, I’m always inspired to get out and shoot. This weekend will be perfect for that.

Really cool shot. Is this a restaurant? I see tables to the left.
