Late Night in Germanville

Thanks Gail and Louis and Gino and….

So, whenever I post a photo of Montana, I always know it will make Gail happy. So I like to see not only her comments, but all the other regulars… I also like how you all are getting to know one another. If you are on Google+ or Facebook, feel free to share your info so people can friend you in these other mediums as well!

Today’s photo has a bit of a German theme, so I know someone will be extra-happy… .or maybe William Beem because it’s from Disneyworld!

Daily Photo – Late Night in Germanville

This area of Epcot is one of the best for night photography. There was a little bit of light in the sky, so I had to make this shot as quickly as possible. I didn’t really have time to do a proper scouting, but this was such a nice situation, I made it happen as quickly as I could. I think my full-tripod-setup is under 25 seconds in these emergency situations.

Normally, I like to zen out and take my time. Others, like this, are the result of sheer, bloody panic.

Another great example of why Walt was awesome! Great picture Trey.

Super shot Trey! I like those glowing red and golden windows!

You’re images of Disney World is making me more and more excited. I’ll be heading up there to DW for New Years and can’t wait to take a bunch of pictures there. I feel my 3 years of HDR experience has led me up to this point preparing me for the greatness that is Disney.

Getting my own taste of Germanville with a visit to Berlin right now. The Christmas decorations are stunning, but the weather is less desirable. I would prefer snow to all this freaking rain!

This is why I need a new tripod, to do these quick setups. My current tripod, that served me well, only allows me to do sloooooow and careful, planned setups. Which is good, if you always have time on your hand. But sometimes, just sometimes, you wish you had something better, for these moments when time is short.

    Great shot, with beautiful lighting.

Trying to fool me? Montana looks different then I expected! They spell beer wrong! Michele – all we have in Wisconsin is rain also! We’re 2 feet behind in snow this year!

BTW – picked up an iPad – FIRST app downloaded was “Stuck” These are like ALL? the Flickr photos?

Grinder – I’m in Maine with the same rainy report (except a freak blizzard in mid October).

Trey – Two words: Space Mountain <—I know you must have a killer shot of just the dome/spire lit up at night or of the star trek like tunnels where you people wait in line. This one is nice for now though: http://www.stuckincustoms.com/2009/04/21/sometimes-id-rather-be-in-disney-world/

Let’s see…hopefully my comment will show up this time. For some reason I seem to have trouble getting my comments to show up on your blog…

Trey – this is another one of those photos where I can’t resist commenting and just saying, “Oh man. That is SO cool!” (Stares with mouth hanging open…a little drool starts to form…)

Oh and on G+ my profile is here: http://ongpl.us/ryanlynham. I have Facebook but don’t really use it, and especially not the way I use my G+ account, which is almost exclusively for sharing photography / meeting photographers.

Also, Trey, speaking of tripods…I am thinking about getting a nice one (I only have cheap ones right now) in the next few years. I imagine a whole bunch of folks would love to hear what you have to say about tripods and which ones you recommend – maybe even a review of your weapon of choice.

Keep up the great work, sir!

Trey – Never mind about the tripod review. Realized I’m just lazy and didn’t do enough looking around. For anyone else interested, if you scroll down through this page you’ll eventually get to Trey’s tripod recommendations: http://www.stuckincustoms.com/hdr-camera/

Thanks for all you do, Trey!

So, what exactly is German about this? I am German and I am always surprised how my country is seen in the world. But anyway – the photo is awesome!! Thanks for sharing!! Jens

I love shots from Disney theme parks. I’ve been wondering how long it takes you to setup and shoot, cause I know that some shots don’t wait on the photographer. Great job as always.

Awesome shot, you did a great job for such a short setup time! I’m on both Facebook and Google+. I keep my Facebook for personal friends and family mostly. My Google+ is for sharing photography / meeting photographers and artists. Here’s where you can find me on G+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/111240230493422963077/posts

Oh, my – I’ve merited another mention on the blog. Thanks, Trey. I do seem to spend an inordinate amount of time out there shooting pictures. I may need to venture out there soon to shoot the Christmas decorations. They even put them on the little toy village in the German section. Details.

my favorite part about this photo? The bushes hanging under the street lights, weird huh??

I hope you bought yourself a beer and pretzel as your reward!

I’m so glad I randomly stumbled upon Trey on G+…(I think he was on the “featured” stream that was randomly showing up)… I have so thoroughly enjoyed looking through this website! I am just a humble student that loves world-travel and hopes to someday get a nice camera and take good pictures! :)

Fantastic for a panic shot. Hey fantastic even if you had all the time in the world. I know – its all in the post processing. I remember this place – even ate there – lots of fun with the oompa band playing! That was way back in the ’80s.

  • Michele

Grinder – the no-snow is just pathetic! And now that we’re leaving Berlin, it’s going to snow a little!

willingandable – I’m laughing while agreeing with your comment. That building is really more Transylvanian or Romanian than it is German! ;)

Oh – what a nice shot. Brings back lots of good memories of Epcot Center.

  • Gail Moshier

Great photo, Trey, of that very colorful building in Disneyworld. Thanks for mentioning me ;-) ! I love all your photos, but you know I like Montana the best, I’m a little prejudiced, lol. Take care and God bless!! :-)
