Daily Photo – The Lighthouse

Here is another photo taken during my Thanksgiving holiday trip to visit family on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Even though I spent most of the time with family doing family-stuff, I did head out on occasion to take a few photos. I never got to visit the various piers… but the wonderful lighthouses are great subjects for photography… and the skies worked nicely too!

    lovely! I had my first trip to the Outer Banks this time last year, and it was amazing. Most exciting, though? Catching sunrise over the sea… probably not a phenomenon for you, Traveller, but it sure was for this (originally) West Coaster. :)

    Looks like you got closer to that light house. Do they have those skies every day or just when you show up with your camera? Interesting shot, but too bad there is no light in the lighthouse.

    Great shot Trey! My family celebrated Thanksgiving in the Outer Banks too this year. If you are still there, Hatteras Lighthouse is nice too, Bodie Lighthouse is under renovation. Outer Banks fishing pier is great for sunrise, it is an old wooden pier that is very interesting. I have been visiting OBX my whole life, If you need anymore recommendations let my know, safe travels!

    Lighthouses have been magical to me ever since Pete’s Dragon came out. I love those things, I expect to see Micky Rooney drunk and screaming next time though Trey. Just see what you can do. ;)

    This image is close to home in several ways, I live about an hour away and the lighthouse was the subject for my first try at HDR.
