Rickshaws at the Drum Tower

Big Announcement Today!

I’m out at Jason Calacanis’ LAUNCH event today. I’ll be taking the stage in late afternoon to announce and show off our newest iPad app. I’ll try to do a live Google+ Hangout from the event, so follow my Google+ profile for the latest!

Daily Photo – The Drum Tower

Here is one of my favorite images from China. I can still hear the Kublai Khan beating the enormous drum inside to call his soldiers near… This temple sits in the Inner City to the north of Di’anmen Street.

  • Nice processing Trey. Funnily, I did some very similar processing just the other day (Japanese photo) – http://www.flickr.com/photos/sheaimages/6262654043

I really love this shot….with the reds and grey skies -that one guy in the middle is kind of a rebel because his wheels are not pointed in the same direction as the others – good luck with the launch!

  • I love the colors in this shot. Great image, Trey.

Wow. I was just there in July and rode those very rickshaws! One of my friends even convinced the driver to let him pedal for a while and it was hilarious. In short, this shot brings back great memories!

  • I know you’re famous (infamous?) for your hyper-real colored pix, but this one, with it’s muted nature is really cool. But as usual it’s your choice of angle that makes the shot for me. Nice work Big Fella.

I put together a collage of “Austin” signs from around mid-town. It’s sort of an homage collage if you will. Hope you like it.

  • Nice pic

  • What a great shot! I love the red! 🙂

  • The muted tones give this a solidity and makes it really grounded – beautiful shot and processing Trey

Cool photo, Trey. Nice colors. Thanks for sharing. Have a great Friday. 🙂

    Awesome shot!

  • Great shot, the composition is extraordinary. I very much like the colors, although less intense compared to your more “regular” work, which really makes this one stand out. Love it…

How is this done? Is it a filter? Or do you use a mask to mask out the color?
