Window of Life

Daily Photo–The Window of Life

The beautiful Bacelona is home for fanciful masterpieces of Antonio Gaudi. I thought I’d had pretty good grasp on the architectures of Gaudi’s but I didn’t anticipate the subtle interior design when I get into some of his buildings.

This is the fanciful Casa Batlló. I was surprised by every turn when I was inside, and it was always inspirational. I wonder whether you have ever played Myst? This place reminded me of Myst–except Gaudi had come up with the ideas so long ago–in 1877! And those designs were not only for beauty but large sums of functionality built-ins too. Simply moving cool air from room to room is stylish and unexpected.

I took lots of other photos in Barcelon that are coming up soon. I tried my best to take good photos at the places where I’d been but caught up by the flu. And that put my productivity into half–so that’s the bummer–yet also another good reason to go back!

You have my sympathies with that illness Trey – i’m just back from the doc with a gastric virus which is never pretty.

I know you’re a soccer fan so did you manage to get to Barcelona’s stadium, the Nou camp, while you were there? I’ve heard it’s a sight to behold…..

The flu does indeed suck… Mind you you did well to retain 50% of your productivity! Most of us would rather do absolutely nothing, haha. Looking forward to more of these interesting shots, I’ve got a goal to get a little more dynamic with my subjects this year…

That is a very interesting picture. One that makes you look at it for awhile and imagine what it is all about. your photos do just that. Great. The only thing I have that goes with your window theme this morning is North Window and Turret Arch in Arches National Park. An amazing place. http://www.wowphotoshdr.com/Landscapes/Southwest-Workshop/14389070_3vHci#1145018933_gDaEw

Yes – having spent this week recovering from the flu in Barcelona, I can say that I know what that’s like!

Andy: Camp Nou is like nowhere else if you’re a fan of football and Barca. Big day today for us culés, Balon D’Or night – Xavi, Messi or Iniesta?!

Gaudi has always been up there for me (along with Gehry and Lloyd Wright), and to live in his city is a dream come true for me, and to live where the world’s last great cathedral being built over centuries is being constructed is icing on the cake.

The lights and transparencies are outstanding. Superb work ! The only problem that I have see at full res is noise. I think that it due to Topaz Labs products. What were the ISO setting and the SW used for post-processing ?

Michelle I cant see past Messi – his 22 goals so far sway it for me.

Looks like a Salvador Dali image.

Yes!!, now I’m beginning to see what you’ve brought from Barcelona, started very bad things about my city, you laughed a bit about us and that’s not right, but you’ve recovered very soon and we’ve given a wonderful prespective inside the “Casa Gaudi. ” Keep it up Trey!

I’m still so surprised that you think I don’t like Barcelona! I said that people like to stay up late and party… and sleep in… it doesn’t mean everybody. And that’s not a bad thing anyway… anyway, I obviously love Barcelona. I don’t have any problem with it at all… just merely commenting that it’s a good place to party late into the night.
