Carmel in the Evening

Daily Photo – Carmel in the evening

I took a California road trip up Highway 1 from Los Angeles to San Francisco. On the way is the famous little town of Carmel. It’s right by Pebble Beach, 17-mile drive, and a bunch of other amazing little places. The town is very quaint and cool… a lovely place to walk around and explore with your camera!

This was my last shot of the night. After this, I stopped in a small Italian restaurant to eat some tasties while I edited some photos. This is one of my favorite things to do after a day of shooting… just relaxing… having someone bring me coffee and snacks… headphones on… editing away. Good times!

I really like the composition here…Processing is standart – excellent. :) Great texture on the roof! Excellent shot Trey!

Yes great composition, coupled with the warm glow from the ‘sweet shop’ makes it so inviting…”I’ll have a 1/4 pound of midget gems, ta muchly” :-)

How quaint indeed – a fine place for a post-photography chillout. My favourite chillout is Glasgow’s ‘Solid Rock Cafe’ where I have been known to disappear to at lunchtimes with my laptop.

Trey, I was watching TV yesterday and saw a commercial for Fujifilm’s new 3D camera – i’m really not sure what to think of these to be honest. I feel the 3D thing is still a bit of an expensive gimmick, but I’d need to look into them more. Is it something you would embrace if it could be used to enhance the HDR technique?

Great evening Shot, those can be so hard to do and you make it look easy. I played golf at Pebble but was not doing photogrqaphy then. Quaint is the word, here is my quaint shot of the week. http://www.wowphotoshdr.com/Other/FEATURED/14413329_yegt6#1081220628_jGjwA

Looks like a scene for a xmas card. I like the pink shade color in the top left of the picture. very natural.

Carmel-by-the-Sea is such a unique and enchanting town. Hopefully you stopped by the Carmel Mission. It’s another great photo location:

Andy – yes I think the 3D thing misses the mark…

  • Linda Castellani

Did you run into Clint Eastwood, Trey?

Was in Carmel for a wedding in July and took a shot in this exact same location. Unfortunately mine is no where near as good as this one. Need to keep working!

Went here for my birthday last year- the candy is pretty great but you photo is obviously much better! Mine didn’t turn out this great, but yours definitely captures the whimsical feeling :)
