The Tunnel to the Singularity

How Long Until the Singularity?

About halfway through my HDR talk at Google (Youtube link), I asked this to the crowd there. I figured they would know! I was thinking about all that a bit recently while working on this photo for the day….

Don’t forget to come discover new artists!

We started this Smugmug Portfolio Contest just recently. Be sure to come over and see some of the new entrants… some beautiful work out there!

Daily Photo – The Tunnel to the Singularity

While getting lost on purpose in the streets of Tokyo, I decided to head up into one of the buildings to wander about. It led to one hallway, which led to another, another, and then to this amazing place. I’m not sure I could ever find it again, so I was sure to take way a photo as a keepsake. Sometimes special things like that happen, and I am sure to appreciate it at the time. One part of me thinks, “Oh, no worries, you’ll be back here again some day.” The other half worries, “Okay, maybe not, you better fully appreciate it!” And I did! :)

    Hi Trey.
It seams that click on the photo opens the “forest” one, not “tunnel”.

This photo makes you want to know what is at the end of that tunnel!! Great capture, Trey. Glad you get lost once in a while, lol.

Great photo Trey! I must admit that I found the recent ones a little too “normal” for you, but this shows me once again why it is worth coming here everyday to see your beautiful art.

PS: When are you gonna come to Germany?

  • HuhWhatOh

what was their answer…how long is it until the singularity? great picture by the way!

How soon before the Singularity? Watch what you wish for Trey. Soon your camera will refuse to take your shot because it realizes your setting and in fact the framing is less than desirable. It will start choosing what is and is not worth shooting. Soon it will wirelessly interface with your lapper and alter your blogs leading to the inevitability of it changing your password and blocking you from logging on to StuckInCustoms.com all together. In the hours after you realize that 1,138 ueber high quality HDR images have been posted in the last hour on your website, supposedly by you, the reality of your situation will have been explained to you – BY YOUR CAMERA!!! The last thing you will process as you silently slip into unconsciousness after your Nikon D13 takes you out will be the sound of cavemen smashing rocks.

    When will the Singularity happen?
    Too soon Trey. Too soon.

I love getting lost when I travel, it seems you always find the coolest things that way.

    Great photograph Trey as always.

This totally looks like a photo example for a “vanishing point” tut!!

    Amazing stuff really!

I don’t think you could have taken this photo from a less interesting perspective. The same applies to The Gentle Bridge photo. Everything appears to be perfectly centered and shot at eye level.

Great shot! I supposed this is the walkway at Tokyo Midtown. I been there too! Correct me if I’m wrong.
