Tokyo at Dusk – Blade Runner Extreme

This is a beautiful scene from Tokyo at dusk one evening. The city is a crazy Blade-Runneresque techno-fest that is alive, foreign, and crazy-wonderful. I had a great time there and took an absolute swath of photos. I’m so excited to post all of them… but only one photo per day….! You know the rules! Hehe.

I shot this from the top of Bunkyo Towers. I took photos here during sunset before meeting up with Alfie Goodrich. He’s a great guy – an Englishman that lives in Tokyo and gives photography lessons (click on that link to see more info). Tell him I sent you! He knows all the best spots all over Tokyo, so a really recommend that you hook up with him!

Great shot! I lived in Toyko from 1967 to 1972 and then again from 1984 to 1987. I really miss Japan..thanks for bringing back memories.

I never cease to be amazed by the HDR technique … both for artistic content and just for digging detail out of images. Check the two examples (one a single RAW and the other a five exposure shot) here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tagchips/4020598867/

As always, thank you for the inspiration.

Trey. Great to meet you in Tokyo recently. Glad I told you about this place, from which you got a great shot. It’s one of my fave spots for shooting Tokyo at night. Shame you didnt get to see the Mount Fuji sunset from the opposite side of the building. Thanks for the plug. Hope to catch you again someday soon.

    Amazing Shoot!
I where just in Tokyo, during the 2010 New Year, and we walked passed that Rollercoaster. Pretty cool how it goes on top of the building and into that hole!

Got a few shoots from the ground up. Generating them in photomatix as I type this.

Tokyo is really an amazing town, no trashbins anywhere but probably the cleanest city iv seen!

    /Erik.

Great post made here. One thing I’d like to say is that most professional fields consider the Bachelor Degree like thejust like the entry level requirement for an online course. Even though Associate College diplomas are a great way to get started on, completing ones Bachelors presents you with many entrance doors to various employment opportunities, there are numerous online Bachelor Course Programs available through institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another concern is that many brick and mortar institutions offer you Online editions of their certifications but often for a substantially higher payment than the corporations that specialize in online college degree programs.
