The Pillars of God

This is an awesome church in Paris. These places are great to photograph. I believe this one was taken inside Le Sacre Coeur up near the altar. At the PhotoWalk, I had a few questions about how to get a tripod into a church, of all things! I wrote up a 10-step guide for this sort of activity a while ago that you can view at your leisure!

I’m spending the weekend in Atlanta. It’s about 10 degrees cooler than Austin here, which means it’s still inhumanly hot! I did get a chance to do a little shooting this evening. I’ll see if I can grab the sunset tomorrow night! I don’t yet have a good Atlanta shot… I’ll hope for some good clouds!

Wonderful glow! What is the magic for creating such an effect?

Thanks! Most of the effect is basic HDR – like what is laid out there in the HDR Tutorial – the other half is the mix part described at the end!

It’s not sunset, but a great twilight opportunity is at Freedom Pkwy and Boulevard near Downtown. Particularly if0you can con your way onto a roof.

I was in France and six other surrounding countries last summer as a college student studying art. I must say that visiting the churches in Europe is one of the most beautiful things i’ve ever seen and you captured one of them so wonderfully. thank you! i’m new to your website and really really love it! I can’t wait to learn more from you!

This is a stunning shot, Trey. I’ve heard they are very strict concerning photography in and around Sacré-Cœur, so I guess you were very lucky to get this one.
