The Inflammable Flammable Restaurant – The FiAMMA Trattoria and Bar

I think this restaurant is amazingly cool. Wood always gives a nice warm feeling to a place, and this place could not have possibly have had more wood inside! I’d love to meet the interior designers of these places… I bet they are real characters. This place is the FiAMMA Trattoria and Bar inside the MGM Grand Hotel in Vegas.

I’ll be back in Vegas in a few weeks and I’m looking forward to it. I’ve got a lot of unpublished photos from there and there are about to be a bunch more! It’s a shooter’s heaven there… and a nice distraction from the gaming tables!

    Thanks!

Maurice – in this case, I did. A team from MGM Mirage took me around to give me special access to places I wanted to shoot.

I’m just getting into photography, and I’m in awe of your photos. Just like the other guys I can’t count the times I’ve been to Vegas, but have I actually seen these places? – Amazing work!

Hey buddy, love how you’ve processed this. Very neat picture, the way the wood looks is really cool.

This is great Trey. Your landscapes are exceptional, but I think these architecture shots are the best use for HDR. Well done.

Anyone know what type of wood this is?

Thanks — I don’t know what kind of wood that is Matthew… Probably something better than balsa! :)

I have to ask, is the title of this photo a reference to Dr. Nick from the Simpsons?

    “Inflammable means flammable….what a country!”

The way you shot the grain of the wood in that photo makes it look like the restaurant is rushing by at top speed.

If you’re going to be in Vegas, make sure you hit the Fremont Street Experience. I don’t know how long it’s been since you’ve been there but they expanded the Fremont East a year or so ago. They cleaned it up and got a couple of cool clubs down there. One you might find particularly interesting is the Griffin bar. It’s cot a pseudo gothic feel to it. Lots of interesting elements to photograph if you can get past the low light.

David – yes haha… glad you are a simpsons fan too! :)

Roxann – interesting tip – I love to photograph gothic places! :)

Hey Trey, I love seeing your HDR versions of places that I’ve been to. They look so surreal. I’d love to have an HDR button to flip on my eye to see things the way you create them. Wouldn’t that be cool?

Of course I always want to go to the places you’ve shot that I haven’t been…..sigh. Happy Weekend!
