The Secret Rooms of Akbar’s Palace at Fatehpur Sikri

It was a very long day that I spent in Akbar’s Palace. Early in the day I parted ways with my guide to walk around the grounds by myself. The palace was relatively empty, being a bit out of the hustle and bustle of Agra. Most everyone else tended to go over to the Taj, but I found the most delicate and beautiful parts to be in these oft-neglected quarters.

I agree with you about Fatehpur Sikri being a lot quieter then the Taj Mahal. I’ve got quite a lot of photos done there and they’re all up at the main site (just click on India).

Did you go to the Baby Taj? It was on the other side of the river and also a lot quiter and very interesting to photograph.

Hey Trey….thanks to your advice, I have altered my plans for my November trip to India to include Fatehpur Sikri…thanks for that…

Another question…when is the best time to visit Iceland? I want to go there this year, but don’t have a clue when to go.

Sure enjoy my visits to your blog….keep up the great work!!

Iceland is interesting any time… the summer is probably the least cold time! :)
