Times Square at Dusk

Daily Photo – Times Square at Dusk

Times Square is one of the most photographed places in the world. I usually try not to do touristy thing, but hey, it’s Times Square. I thought I would try a new take on this shot, arriving just as the sun started to set.

The biggest problem was people waling in front of the tripod, totally aloof to my HDR quest. Since it takes five minutes to explain HDR to people, it was not efficient to stop everyone in the area and give them a short dissertation on why it is important for them not to get in front of my tripod…

Anyway, I really like this shot. I think one of my favorite things was the clouds in the dusk sky.

    Wow hey thanks all!
I used a 10mm lens on this one… I cropped off the edges a bit so it is really more like 14mm.

Fantastic shot – as always. I’ve been hoping you’d do some pictures of NYC since I stumbled across your blog last year, and you haven’t disappointed.

Hey trey, love your work keep it up and good luck with your move to NZ if it is still happening, any hurdles the immigration put in your way, just keep jumping, it took us 2.5 years of banging heads on walls to migrate to Aus and that was 20 years ago…

Anyhow back to Mr Lik, only reason i would guess is to create this kind of response and so generate more awareness of whatever it is he is doing, its a crappy thing to do and he should know better i guess. Anyhow i refuse to click on his link and give him the hit rate he is looking for. As you say the internet is all knowing..

Slowly getting into HDR myself and love what you do, btw you will love NZ..
