  • Ita Daniels

Hi Trey, after several ways to try and contact you with no replies, maybe this avenue? I have purchased your texture tutorial with textures on the 26th and received a receipt and nothing on how to access all this. Can you please email me at [email protected] I
    am keen to get started!

  • Rick Diffley

“The Arcanum” – I received my invitation on 12/2/14 to take part. Sadly, my plate is currently fulI. I retire in June 2015 and would welcome another invitation at that time. I updated my profile, leading with this new information. Felt that a more detailed note was polite vs simply declining the invite. Please share this with Angela Pan.

    Thank you!!

  • Cool okay – you may get another invite then! 🙂

  • Hi Trey. Visiting your part of the world (well Glenorchy) in February, so bought your Landscape Photography Tutorial Series: New Zealand series – it’s been inspirational and I’m looking forward to seeing it in real life!

    Many thanks.

  • Awesome – have fun here man! 🙂

  • joe crutchley

HI. Great site. I also paraglide and i’ve been thinking about getting an A7 for use whilst in the air and on the ground. Would you think the stabilisation in version 2 would make the difference or would the (usually) good light be ok anyway for the version 1r? Enjoy your flying

  • Lindsay Dunlop

Hi Trey! My name is Lindsay and I am hoping to get in touch with you on behalf of my business and life partner, Phi Vernon of Third Eye Arts (www.ThirdEyeArts.com). Phi is a well-known photographer and illustrator in our community with an amazing eye and huge talent. He absolutely loves your work and has a very similar shooting style to yours. Basically, you are living our dream! Traveling the world to capture extremely high quality images of exotic locations, people and events is what we are working towards, and we would love to hear more about what inspired you to accomplish the things you have in the photography world, and how you overcame any adversities along your path. My email is [email protected]. I hope to hear from you soon! Safe and happy shooting!! 🙂

  • Robbie

Aloha Trey, OMG I stumbled across your website and I love all the gorgeous photos you’ve taken and have shared with us. My husband and I are planning to visit Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, and New Zealand this year in late September thru mid October and read that we may be able to see the Aurora Australis if we’re lucky. Do you do any photo tours for capturing Aurora Australis? If not, I would appreciate any suggestions on when might be a good time to visit for that and where it would be easily accessible for us. Thanks in advance for your time, I hope to hear from you soon! Mahalo, Robbie

  • Veronika P

I couldn’t find an appropriate email so I will try asking my question here. I would like to use one of your photos for LinkedIn. Would that be allowable under the licensing? Thank you!

  • Kereti Kanawa

Kia Ora Trey, I’ve had hours of just looking at your shots, literally hours. I started taking shots about 10 years ago, and my sister pointed out a couple of Taniwha in the shots, disguised as tress, mountain tops, lakes. You have such a way of looking at things, and so many of your NZ shots are full of Taniwha. I’m thinking of doing a whimsical book, with shots like yours, and little Taniwha spirit stories that go with them. Thank you so much for sharing your talent. It furthers all of us fortunate to stumble across your works. Kia Ora !!!! P.S. Have you ever thought of going to the Faroe Islands?

  • The abandoned farmhouse is really abandoned now on this page. http://www.stuckincustoms.com/2013/07/04/sony-nex-review-nikon-vs/
Maybe you can locate it again. 🙂
Love all your pictures and am impressed by your way of explaining. HDR is so beautiful. Thank you so much.

I have been playing around with Aurora and have some pretty cool photos. Do you have a tutorial for printing ? I have an Epson 3000 and can’t seem to get the prints right.

Do you recommend any printers ?

  • D

Trey, Curious what your thoughts are on the new Sony a6300 camera???

  • L

Hey Trey, met you briefly on your US Photowalk, learned about you from OnOne software although I was a big fan of your photography and never had a name attached to know they came from you. Just got the Complete Photography Business Bundle, not bad. I was thrown into business overnight by unusual circumstances so I was never organized on the business end and this was a great package to get me back on track. Thanks!!

  • Stu – SIC

Hey, you can check out Trey’s camera recommendations here: http://www.stuckincustoms.com/camera-equipment/

  • Lance

Trey, do you and your team set up your travels (like the one in Botswana), or do you hire an established safari/tourist service? More to the point, do you recommend safari or tourist companies that could take us to some of the places that you’ve written about, and photographed?

  • It depends! Botswana was special and went through Nevile Jones

  • Alan Monie

Hi Trey … I don’t know where the best place to ask you questions is so I will do it here … I just purchased Aurora HDR 2017 and watched the tutorial and am very excited … my question is – does this change your approach to organizing and handling your photos or do you still use Lightroom for that as taught in your Organize your photos tutorial?

  • Stu – SIC

Hey Alan, yes, Trey is still using LR to organise his photos. 🙂

  • Alan Monie

Thanks Stu … on another note – do you know what he uses to transfer photos from camera to computer? I have a 27″ iMac running Yosemite … the hard drive crashed so I had to have it replaced … I used to use Kodak EasyShare with my Pentax and it was awsome – it would put the files in the folder where I wanted them and automatically make a folder with the appropriate date and the delete the files from the camera when done transferring … wham bam … well Kodak Easyshare is no longer supported and I cant find an equivalent …. everything I have been able to find becomes very manual …

  • Eric Wickstrom

I have a major problem with one of your products. On October 5 I ordered and downloaded the following three items: Lightroom Presets – 2015 and Photomatix Presets Bundle – Volumes 1 and 2. All three downloaded and unzipped without incident. The unzipped Lightroom presets open smoothly, and work as advertised. However, neither of the Photomatix Volumes would open, even after repeated attempts. It was only several days later that, while reviewing others’ comments posted to your website, I learned the Photomatix presets would not work with my Photomatix Essentials….only with Photomatix Pro.

Well, I thought, shame on me for being too dense to have noticed that! Later, I returned to your website
sales material to learn where I had screwed up. There, I discovered that nowhere in the summaries of
either the individual Volumes or the Bundle was there the slightest mention of that severe restriction……no Essentials, only Pro. Well, shame on you for not mentioning that.

Are you planning a fix or an update for the Photomatix bundles, to accommodate Essentials?

  • Stu – SIC

Hi Eric, sorry about the confusion.

Drop me a mail on [email protected] and I’ll arrange a refund for you for the Photomatix pack.

(I’ve just done some basic testing with the latest version of Essentials and all the presets seem to work, although it is a bit clunky compared to Pro)

  • Ray Reinhard

How about doing an “upgrade” discount for owners of Photomatix Pro 5 (like myself) to switch to Aurora 2017?

  • Stu – SIC

Interesting Idea Ray. Nothing planned like that at the moment but I’ll mention it to the team.

  • GV

    Visiting Dubai and Abu Dhabi
I’m scheduled to visit these two (amazing looking) locations end of December this year. I’m trying to do as much “virtual” scouting and preparing as I can. Can I ask how you did your scouting/preparing for your trips there?

  • Robin Brown

    Hi Trey,

My coworker introduced me to your work today. He told me about your visit here awhile back and how he actually got to meet you. I was blown away. You have an incredible eye and do an exceptional job capturing raw moments.

The reason why my coworker introduced me to your work is because I am decorating my condo. I would like have the shot with the hot air balloon (https://stuckincustoms.smugmug.com/Portfolio/i-nqRMtQq/A) printed and framed at 60″x30″ for the center piece of my living room/ dinning room/ kitchen.

Is there anyway I could get a HD version of the shot?

  • Stu – SIC

Hey Robin, email [email protected] and we’ll be able to discuss the licence cost, etc.

  • Jack Hall

Hey Trey! Are you going to Burning Man this year? If so, come by Barbie Death Camp (usually in the vicinity of 4:00 and 6:30, but we are not placed yet) and ask for Tripod (Jack). We are serving chili on Monday night around 6:00 for our big “Chili Cook-off”. Come and be sure to vote for my Chili!

  • Richard Baynes

What happened to the apps – 100 Cameras etc??

  • Stu – SIC

They are not available on iOS at the moment but we hope to have them back in the future.

  • Richard Baynes

    Awesome!

  • Jack Schultz

Any chance that you would ever develop some of your Lightroom Presets (which we had purchased) that would work on iPhone? Seeing more of a need for this than ever now. Sure hope you do it. Your presets are the photos I get the best comments about but I have to process on desktop in LR That sometimes is not possible as you know. Sure would like to see it happen as all of the apps for HDR and tone mapping that others have done seem to fall far short. I have them all and am constantly experimenting more and more with iPhone. Best regards . . .

  • salita smith

I find you from google G+ top photographer list and already check some of your photography, this is my good luck that i found a famous photographer like you.

  • JMP

    Dear Trey,
In response to your request, I have to say that, while interesting in some ways, your recent video snippets (“random videos”) are not the kind of material I may look for in your website. I can do without, and would prefer any type of information related to photography that you are known for.

  • Kathryn

Will my camera DMC-FZ200 panasonic lumix be set for -2 0 +2 exposure for HDR photos.
I cannot find where to set it so I can buy the new Aurora program.

    [email protected]

    Thanks Trey

  • Stu – SIC

Hey, I’m not sure if your camera allows an automated mode to do that, it should allow you to take individual images at -2 0 and +2 though… it does have RAW support though. So look in the menu for a setting which talks about jpeg and RAW. Make sure both are enabled and then even if you have problems creating 3 exposures, Aurora will still happily accept and work with a single RAW file. (Drop Panazonic an email and they should be able to tell you the best way to create 3 exposures)

  • Carlos Esguerra

Almost everyday I view your site and I enjoy looking at your images. I scroll down the pages either with mouse or with the MacBook track pad. As I scroll down, the cursor stays in place often right in the middle of the images. The way your site is set up, if the cursor in on the image area, the image disappears and the camera data of f stop, shutter speed, ISO etc. are displayed. The freaks me out. I want to see the images, not the camera data. I suggest, maybe instead of automatically switching to the camera data, you give the viewer the option to click on the image if he wants to see the metadata.

    Just suggesting.

Your images are great (but I don’t care about the date behind the shots).

    Cheers.

  • Stu – SIC

Thanks for the feedback Carlos. 🙂

  • John White

Hi Trey, your photography is impressive. We are looking for a photo tour of the south island–senior citizens so not able to hike as much as we would like. Can you recommend a photo tour–8 days or so? If you would like to send private message, my email is [email protected]. Thanks much.

  • gordon tran

    Hey Trey
I know you’re a busy man and this message might not be read by you, but it would mean a whole lot to me if you could take a look at this piece I took, inspired by your ‘Inception Reflection New York’. I chose you as a model photographer for my AS level coursework and I’ve learned a lot from your work and applied them to mine. Perhaps you could critique this shot and some of my other works too if you want and have time. Oh btw I edited this shot along with all of my personal work with “Aurora HDR” and I’m loving it.
    https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/36303832273/in/dateposted-public/
    My email is [email protected]

  • Stu – SIC

Hey Gordon, he’s about to head off on a long journey so I don’t think he’ll be able to respond but I’m sure he’ll at least take a look.

  • Brian

Stu or Trey… just bought the Aurora HDR software… bloody fantastic work by Macphun and yourselves.
As time permits, you should update the key areas of Stuck in Customs and replace Photomatix with Aurora. 🙂

  • Stu – SIC

    “in progress” 🙂

    Have fun!

  • Stu – SIC

Hey Ajae, you are right. The SIC apps are not available for newer iOS devices. At the moment there are no plans to change that I’m afraid.

  • Ian

    Hey!
Did you know wildcard at stuckincustoms.com doesn’t work?

  • Ian

… so here’s my email as I tried to send it:

I’m sure you’ve seen this already, but just in case
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/technology-41668704/still-photographs-spring-to-life

FYI I’ve nothing to do with it, I just get your news letter.

  • Stu – SIC

Hi Ian, I’ll get that email issue looked at… as for the link. Yes, I’ve seen that and passed it on. Pretty cool I thought… my wife disagreed 😀

  • Lee Wolfson

I started using Luminar and I like it. A lot. However, I love your Lightroom presets! Any chance you will be migrating presets like “a good start”, or flapjack or drama in the center” to Luminar?
    Thanks!
    Lee

  • Stu – SIC

    Hopefully!

  • Chris Matchett

Took the money and ran eh? Why should anyone purchase anything else from your company, knowing that you don’t support your products.

  • Stu – SIC

HI Chris, the product (which was $0.99 or $2.99) was supported for a number of years (from 2010-2016) and has now reached the end of its lifespan. If you bought the app and feel it hasn’t lived up to your expectations send me a copy of your order confirmation to [email protected] and I’ll get back to you asap.

  • Chris Matchett

Apple added 64 bit to iOS in 2013

  • Stu – SIC

The decision to exit the mobile/app market as our apps began to hit the end of their lifespan was not related to the introduction of 64bit by Apple. We left them available for as long as possible after the decision not to develop them further and it was Apples decision to remove legacy apps which resulted in them becoming unavailable.
