Pitching a Tent in Antarctica

Pouring through our Antarctica Video Footage

We got heaps of video footage in Antarctica… we’re still going through all of it and figuring out the best way to package it and bring it to y’all. Video is a different beast… stick with us! 🙂

Daily Photo – Pitching a Tent in Antarctica

One day in survival training, Stu and I had to erect our own tent. It was awesome. It’s not exactly a normal tent — I believe they are called polar tents. They are built to withstand blizzard conditions. You can imagine a normal tent in a blizzard… that just wouldn’t work. So there is all kinds of bracing that have to be in place ahead of time. It’s also extra-challenging because either you’re hammering these giant iron spikes into solid ice or, if on the main continent, into rocks and gravel. I felt like a real survivor!
