Carnevale in Venice – Stuck in Customs

Carnevale in Venice

Carnevale

One of my biggest surprises is how open the participants were to photography. People would dress up lavishly then literally stand outside and pose for hours on end for photographers. No money needed, none of that. They would just run through a series of poses… it was so fun! I’m sure that takes a little bit of magic out of these photos now that you know, but it’s interesting nonetheless! 🙂

Daily Photo – Carnevale in Venice

The detail on the outfits and masks from all over Venice was so incredible! I’m always impressed by the artistry and effort people put into their displays. I’ll tell you a secret! Well, maybe that’s not the right word… I don’t know what the word is. But, maybe like you, I’ve seen photos of Carnevale in Venice my whole life. Well, I thought the whole time that all of this was actually painted on the face. But it’s not… it’s all a mask and the only real part is the eyes. Maybe you knew this the entire time, but I did not. But if you’ve just discovered this for the first time like me, then you know what I mean when it changes everything and the way you see it!
