Before going to Antarctica (and since!), I’ve been reading up more on the great adventurers of the age… those were some tough dudes, I tell ya. Here’s a bit of information on Captain Robert Falcon Scott (what a cool name!). There’s also many amazing documentaries out there as well worth watching…

Captain Scott has two huts in Antarctica and this is his “more recent” one. You can see a huge difference between this one and his first “Discovery” hut that I also visited. The other one was smaller, not very warm, and did not have room for many supplies. This one was quite huge and had a clever heating system where the oven could be used to heat up the whole place. Now, it wasn’t exactly cozy, but you could see how much Captain Scott learned between his two expeditions.
