Daily Photo – Wondering Girl in the Rain

It's hard to say which of the photos I edit in the Lightroom Tutorial are my favorite, but this is certainly one of them. You can see the original above, and it's not all that different, but there is something very nice and magical that is transformed when the colors are moved about a little bit… Maybe you can see what I mean! 🙂

This girl was walking around in the wet streets of Yangshao, China

Thanks for sharing the BOTH the before and afters! Often I am extremely disappointing when coming home from a hike with a hundred(es) of photos in my camera and not one seems to stand out and scream “this is it!”. And then I get even MORE depressed after opening 500px and seeing all the ones on Page 1 of Popular and comparing them to what I just took. . . . Then when i wipe my tears I (again) realize that NOT ONE one those photos would have made it without extensive post processing, and the my world is again, good.

  • treyratcliff

haha yes – 500px can be depressing for sure!

  • ReinoldFZ .

After a bit time photographing landscapes I see your after are closer to one could see and feel in the place.
In the last one I love the subtle change specially in the sky. In the before version it’s an empty black and in the after it’s filled with the nice blue that complement the warm glance of the girl and shows the rain and gives sense to the umbrella.

    You said it Randy!
