Our Austin PhotoWalk on the BBC

You’ll see a short interview with me in the middle of the first bit from the Austin Photowalk. You may see a lot of other familiar faces in here too! Thanks to LJ Rich from the BBC for putting together this piece – that was fun!

Daily Photo – Moonrise Kingdom

This is one of my favorite new pieces from this year! I just shot it a few days ago.

It was shot waaaay after the sun went down in Big Sur, California. This is a crazy waterfall that pours off onto the beach. You can’t see it from the road, and it requires a short walk. I found it thanks to Stuck On Earth, although I am sure other locals have known about this semi-secret place forever! You can go here too… it’s not terribly difficult. It’s called “McWay Falls” and it’s beautiful any time of the day.

Also, btw, I’d like to thank those of you that have been ordering more prints recently — I am honored! 🙂 You can always click just below the photo to check sizes and prices to find something to fit your budget. Thanks again!

  • McWay Falls is semi secret?!?!? What about the 8 foot signs right on the highway or the millions of photos posted of it, or the countless postcards that can be found all over Northern and Central California? Your ridiculous comment reminds me of the

  • It’s secret if you’re not from the area or haven’t been there. I can’t see the signs from my place here in Pennsylvania.

They don,t have to be so picky,do they folks? After all it helps us all who have never been to look for it on the map. This is like someone telling me the score and I have not yet watched the game. We, that is most love to read the way Trey writes his stories makes it more interesting.
This is a cool shot one of my favourites, did you shine light below to light up the area ? or was it day time? what ever I like its COOOOOL.

  • Casper van Zyl

Why spoil it for us we will never even get there Sean,we just love the way he discovered it. It looks secret anyway.

Sean – haha man – I’ve been to Big Sur 8 EIGHT times and never seen it! It’s totally hidden from the highway, which is just 100 miles of endless turns… it’s pretty dang easy to miss… don’t you think I would have shot it one of the first 7 times I’ve been there if it was that obvious?

  • Mike Jacobs

Great capture and processing. It is one of my favorites of yours, Just awesome!!!!!!

  • Wait. What is this “Yosemite” you speak of?
Man! I gotta get that Stuck On Earth app.

  • i love the unrealness of it. the lighting almost makes it look staged, like a filmset.

  • Sorry if my comment sounded a bit harsh. I’ve only been to Big Sur once and had no problem finding it is all. It’s clearly listed on the only landscape photography app I use, Google Maps. BTW, its a great night shot of the falls. Definitely not easy to get considering there isn’t many place to stay in the area and driving on those roads sucks at night.
