Another Road Through an Endless Valley

Steam Games

I’ve been playing Left 4 Dead 2 a lot with my son. It’s good times. I’m playing Borderlands 2 on the XBox with Ethan, but it’s splitscreen and kinda crazy (but fun in co-op). But I was thinking of also getting it on Steam to play single player a bit. Other good games I’ve been playing are FTL and Civ 5 – always winners… You guys and gals playing anything lately?

Daily Photo – Another Road Through an Endless Valley

I rode down this one with Karen Hutton, Scott Kublin, and Curtis Simmons. Every five minutes they wanted to get out of the car and take a photo. I know the feeling! You see, I already have done this hundreds and hundreds of times… now I only get out on new roads or of the clouds/light is just different “enough”. It doesn’t take much, because there is a lot of variation. And, as most of you know, I’m not one to take a bunch of photos in the middle of a blue sunny day. But, on this day I was!

love the depth the road leads into mountains beyond and blueness of the sky.

Ive been wanting to play Skyrim but haven’t even bought it yet and haven’treally had much time to play these days. I’m hoping when my daughter goes on summer vacation it’ll free up some time. I’ll keep jumping back into Oblivion when I can, I just can’t get enough of the scenery in there. Have you Played any of the Elder Scrolls games Trey?

  • You should try XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It’s not on Steam, but it was just released in the Mac App store this week. It was ported to Mac by Feral Interactive. The game itself is from Firaxis, who made Civ 5.

Borderlands 2 was great on Steam, esp the Co-Op where you don’t have to deal with split-screen.

I just finished Bioshock Infinite and loved it. It’s not really necessary to play the first two games before playing Infinite, but If you haven’t played at least the first game, you really should. It is probably my all-time favorite – and often very cheap on Steam.

Farcry 3 was a lot of fun, and I got a good 30 some hours out of it by the time I had completed all of the side missions. You’ll need to use Ubisoft’s Uplay instead of steam, though. I didn’t have any issues using Uplay, so it wasn’t a big deal.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown actually is on steam, I got it free for pre-ordering Bioshock Infinite. Haven’t played it yet, but have heard great things about it. I believe it’s a turn based strategy/action.

Batman: Arkham City was another good one. I played it on my PC using a gamepad, although I’ve heard people say good things about the mouse/heyboard controls. Great looking game, one of the few that really make great use of PhysX (if you have an Nvidia gfx card).

For the most part, I’m still having a hard time pulling myself away from Battlefield 3. I have a back-log of Steam games in my library I still need to play.

  • Only time these days for the occasional SCII level. 🙂

You have to try Skyrim, will blow Oblivion away!

Whatever you do, don’t get into MMOs (like world of warcraft and so on) while they are fun, they will end up taking up your valuable photography time 🙂

DOTA 2 is great for getting that quick rush (max 1-1.5 hour)

    Thanks — good suggestions below ! 🙂

FTL is a really fun little game. I like to watch YouTube clips or something on Hulu while I play it since it doesn’t require total concentration.
