Evening on the Beach in Virgin Gorda

Textures Tutorial

We broke apart the Textures Tutorial so that people could JUST get the hi-res textures. That was a common request, so we recently made that available for you.

Daily Photo – Evening on the Beach in Virgin Gorda

This is the beach that was just a short walk from Toad Hall, the place we stayed during our fun trip down to the islands. The sand was so soft and powdery, and the water was like a warm bath. I guess that’s why this area got the name “The Baths” although I am not sure.

Do you like this painting effect? I think I like it sometimes… depends on my mood.

I feel its OK,we all have our ways of expressing ourselves, then down the track we change our minds sometimes or experiment some more to see if we can make it look better. Hope Susan is ok have not see her on for a while.

Hi Casper! I’ve been here every night as usual – but I had some kind of snafu with commenting – looks like they got it fixed!! I always enjoy your comments – Trey is lucky to have you following him. He finally made it to Paris tonight for the photowalk and workshop – he said it took 24 hrs and 8 airports! Take good care and thanks for missing me! 🙂

He will have jet-lag for sure on this one Susan, hope nothing befalls him,he’s a great guy.

  • Looks more like a painting indeed. Had to see it large to be able to appreciate it.

  • I think I like the painterly effect on the water and beach, but not so much in the sky. What program did you use for that?

Trey, I have been looking at your photos recently wondering which were taken with the NEX7 or your Nikon (one that works :)) I need to upgrade and because I travel a lot, the NEX7 seems like the right fit. But….at one print size do you see a difference in quality between the NEX7 and your full-frame Nikon? BTW, your reviews are very helpful.

“Fat Virgin”? That’s a humorous name for a beach!! (Gorda = fat in Portuguese!) lol
