The Underwater Cave of Mystery

No Variety Hour Tonight

No, we’re not changing the name to “The No-Variety Hour.” Trey’s Variety Hour is not running tonight due to the Labor Day holiday. Be sure to keep an eye on my YouTube Channel for next week’s show!

Best Caves in the world

What are some of your favorite caves in the world? I’ve only been to a few…. but I’m dying to get into that giant salt crystal cave… it’s shut off to the public, but I’d love the opportunity to go take photos inside.

Daily Photo – The Underwater Cave of Mystery

This is a very cool place!

There are a thousand boulders that are stacked up all over The Baths area of Virgin Gorda. The beaches are actually separated where the boulders get really intense. This is one of those areas, and to get here, you have to duck and shimmy and slide around. Once you are here, however, you can wade deep into this cave and into other underwater caves beyond.

Nice little grotto. Love the lighting.

  • Amazing photos…! would you like to browse

  • How did you manage to keep your camera dry?

    Nice colors!

  • This is an awesome photo! How deep is the water in these caves? Can you go diving to do more exploraton?

  • The Baths is an incredible place. Drach Caves in Mallorca, Spain are absolutely beautiful, no photography allowed inside but the caves are amazing and during the tour they do a concert on the underground lake inside the caves, it’s wonderful. Also really like Crystal Caves in Bermuda.

  • It’s amazing how these places exist in the world – fascinating. My favourite cave is a toss-up between the ‘cave of wonders’ from Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ or the one in ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ where Satipo gets turned into a kebab!

There are caves up north in South Africa at a place called Pilgrims Rest.I was with a few buddies in the early days and they took me to this Cave, all sand stone and hidden by bush. They were Geologists as there are so many minerals in the area they even showed me gold that were in the surface rocks.Well to cut the long story short the biggest pillar I have seen in any cave in my entire life. The pillar they told me was 6.75 feet in diameter and the step we were standing on, which was about a foot thick by aprox 30×19 feet large had only just fell from the ceiling a few days earlier. The cave was not very stable that is why they sealed it off. What an experience.

Wish I’d had a decent camera when I visited Carlsburg Caverns in Kentucky. I don’t think I’ll ever get back there, but if you are in that neighborhood, might be worth a visit…

  • I love caves and am also dying to get into the giant salt crystal cave! My favourtie cave shot is from Iceland, of an underground hot spring near Lake Myvatn:

  • Nice to see Bermuda make the comments! 🙂 I’m hoping I can get them to let me in Crystal Caves for a few hours, without a tour.
