Daily Photo – Little Girl in China

Chinese kids can be awfully cute. I don’t know why this is… maybe because they are just kinda different… I can’t put my finger on it. They kind of remind me of really cute pets… that is a strange thing to say, but maybe you know what I mean. Anyhoo, I’ve been processing with a few new techniques, and this is one of the results…

Trey, I didn’t get any picture, that’s disappointing. Have a good Sunday anyway, I’ll check facebook and like it there. 🙁

Figures, now the photo is there. What a cute little girl, thanks for sharing!!!

P.S. Can’t believe I’m the first one to post. Where is everyone??

Your blog has been one of my favourites for quite a while, your photos have truly inspired me! Even my grandfather, who can’t operate his email, knows how to get to your website and look through your photos. They are breathtaking, nothing I’ve ever come accross can compare!
Hopefully I’ll be able to try out HDR photography after college 🙂

P.S. burning man seems insanely cool- I wish I could go!

Pps. In Chinese there is a poem/saying

In china the most beautiful scenery is in Guilin
In Guilin the most beautiful scenery is in Yangshuo

The mountains there are magnificent, I would love to see you capture them, I doubt anybody could do a better job!

  • awesome clik….. beyond expectations…..

  • Great portrait and treatment Trey!

    Hi Trey,
Can you give us an insite as to processing technique? Very lovely photo of the little girl, and I love the effect.

  • Nancy

The girl is cute, and I like the blurred activity in the background – but I’m really not fond of the haze fad. (The first time I saw it in a professional photography forum, I suggested how it might be fixed. I was informed that it was deliberate, and was directed to actions so I could do the same thing to my photographs. No thanks!)

I did finally get hold of some HDR software – a processing technique which produces results I like a lot – and just tried it out on some series of images I shot over the summer. Got a couple of nice ones – and looking forward to trying that technique more.

  • Most little girls are cute no matter where the are from, but Chinese girls are more angelic, it seems. Wonderful shot, great composition! What else is there.

  • Thanks

+Shane – you should talk to +Jaime Ibarra – he showed me how to do this… I paid him…

  • Trey can you briefly tell me about how you processed this. I can usally figure out how people work though their photos from the final image, but can’t seem to get this one!! It looks fantastic.

On a seperate note, I would love to see a post on some tips for photographers who are in a bit of a rut (me). I feel like I have finally gotten to the point of being very proficient with my work, but seem to have leveled out in a way… I want to expand my exposure, sell more prints, share more of my work, etc… Any tips for the “intermediate” travel photographer? Thanks man, love what you do!

  • Adorable indeed. But “little cute pet”?…lol.
