Interview in Queenstown Part 1

Interview in Queenstown Part 1

Mark Stagi from Digital Photo Buzz sent me some interview questions, and I answered them all on video. I split it into two parts because of YouTube upload limitations… and here is part 1! Enjoy!

Daily Photo – The Range at Night

I drove to Glenorchy (a not-bustling suburb of Queenstown) late in the afternoon. After doing a bit of shooting and snacking, I took a perfect little road back to Queenstown. It runs along a long and perfect lake. The sun had dropped to an interesting spot, and I could see the heavens were boiling away… so I pulled over to take this quick shot.

Awesome shot Trey….all silver and blue – gorgeous lake and mountains – I can see why you love it there – you’re right ‘perfect’! This one is going on my desktop! Cool video too – looking forward to part 2!

  • simply beautiful shot and colors!

  • Simon Morris

Nice shot, the sunlight reflection looks like a huge spotlight shining onto the lake… just waiting for a flyby from the ‘Dambusters’ and all hell break out 😉

  • Stunning, I keep getting the urge to make my way to glenorchy so I think I’ll make it a plan this week!
Excellent interview Trey, I love hanging out on the wharf. So tranquil…

  • Once again, a really pretty pic! I think you’re overusing the word “perfect” though, I recognized that a couple times now.

    Great moody shot!

I can watch your videos better on youtube, so went there and discovered I already had an account, lol. I saved your youtube page in my favorites so I can go back a view all your videos when I have time, maybe after Christmas, lol. For today’s photo, A+ !!!! I love this one. I’m keeping the Christmasy looking one from the other day as my desktop, though. Have to keep myself in the mood to do Christmas cards, lol. Thanks goodness for ecards if I can get yahoo greetings to open. Might have to get up in the middle of the night, rofl!!! Anyway, thanks for sharing your videos and photos with us!!!! Hope your week is going well! Watch you soon, I hope, on youtube. All the best 🙂

P.S. Sorry for being so wordy, getting bad in my old age :-O

  • iWantnext — How can one overuse the word ‘perfect’ when referring to such abundant beauty?
If there were a more fitting term for the surroundings of Queenstown I’m sure Trey would find it, haha…

  • Those reflections on the water are making me thirsty – looks good enough for a swim although i’d imagine it’s probably pretty darn cold in there.

As for altering photos a la Curtis, Ansel Admas descibes unbashedly in one of his books, I think “The Negative,” how he scratched out the “L” (for Lone Pine High School) from his photo of the horse in front of the wintery Sierra Nevada mountains. So I’m with you on that, Trey.

  • Great shot today Trey…makes me want to go back!

  • Kumerasta

Perfect is correct. You’ve really nailed this one Trey. The encircling mountains protecting the lake from the roaring norwesters on the peaks. No whitetops on the lake. Perfect. Thanks again Trey from Chch.

  • Love the shot! Amazing video quality btw.

  • I love the way the water glistens – I can imagine that the colours were changing all of the time. Stop motion HDR…umm… Thanks for inspiring us all Trey!
