Olympic Park in Atlanta and approaching 20 million views!

I was with my friends Scott and Rick in Atlanta a few weekends ago. While there, Scott pulled out his video camera and started following me, asking all kinds of questions about photography. He’s just getting started with his DSLR and so is Rick. Scott has made a few HDRs and was already hooked, so he thought it would be a good idea to videotape me for a few hours and just ask a bunch of questions while I set up for HDRs.

Scott just sent me an advance look at the final cut of the video he made… it’s very cool! I am going to share it with everyone in the Newsletter shortly. I think we should get it out in the next week or so. I’ll also have a longer uncut version available exclusively for Newsletter subscribers (yes it is FREE). It was very nice of Scott to make the video and I’m excited to share it. Below is one of the four photos I took in the video.

The second screenshot below is from Flickr. We are probably 10 days or so from breaking 20 million views on Flickr. Thanks everyone! I’ll buy a Coke for the 20 millionth visitor!

  • I love Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta. It’s such a cool place to hang out. Here’s my HDR attempt which I captured there: http://elbelbelb2000.blogtog.com/archives/6297_1579073640/309144 (what do you think?)

By the way, did you get to see the fountains dance to music? They do it in the evenings during the summer.

And it’s absolutely mind-blowing that you’re almost at 20 million views!!!

  • Dan

Wonderfull shot Trey! I’m assuming its from a single RAW as i can’t see any ghosting. Hope you’ll publish a more thorough guide and RAW -> HDR soon.
I love coming here everyday, so it doesn’t surprise me you are close to 20million views soon. Keep up the good work!!

  • Hi Trey, Love this shot…imho i would mask back in the skin tones on the girl in the red dress…lucis or whatever has a real tendency to Zombify people! πŸ˜‰

  • petrov from Romania

hello, i’m new in here and i’m freaking amazing…… tell me guys when is the time for a good light…. in the evening, morning….. ( sorry for my english ) thanks

  • good news this morning trey! the celebration continues! 20 million views and counting! it’s like lightning speed this is all happening so fast!

    can you believe it?!

  • Wowee, congratulations, Trey. Darn, I missed the free coke πŸ˜‰ lol. Nice photo of people having fun in the central park!! All we have done is drive through Atlanta on the way to Florida a couple of times in the 90’s. Now that’s to far away for us to go πŸ™ . Have lots of online friends and relatives there. Maybe when we get rich, ha. Anyway, great job!!!!!

  • Thanks y’all.

Eugene – thanks for sharing links.. feel free to all you like – I don’t have time to visit them all (the problem is that people sprinkle comments and links just not on the most recent post but the hundreds of previous posts too!)

And the fountains were not working this evening… what a bummer!

  • Trey, you need to read your flickr mail! πŸ˜‰

  • casusan

Love this shot Trey – looks like a scene out of a movie! Super congrats on all your visitors!

  • That’s just ballin’. You are a wild and wonderful inspiration. I was thinking to e-mail you but I wonder if you’d ever see it with flickr mail like that! I could only imagine how hard it would ever be [if someone even wanted to] to keep up with that amount of mail.

Here is to the next 20 Million!!! [i am trying to hit 1 million visitors by the end of the year – adventerous yes!]

I love the internet and the hope it can give some of us!

  • Make sure you get Coke’s permission if you decide to take a photo of the free Coke… πŸ™‚

  • Trey,

I guess you didn’t miss too much with the fountains. I mean, they’re great, but they’re not much compared to the show you see at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Still, the picture I linked to above was captured during this “dance show” (that’s the reason why there are no people inside the rings, as everyone is asked to watch from the “sidelines”).

I’m sure you’ll visit Atlanta one of these days, perhaps paying a visit to Centennial Olympic Park once more?

  • Is this a single RAW HDR?

If not, how the hell did you get rid of all that ghosting???

  • Trey,

I feel privileged you call me your friend. I had a lot of fun out there learning from you. Looking forward to the next time we hang out. Maybe, i will be a little better photographer by then

  • Speed – no it was 5 exposures – I talk a bit about it in the video scott made

    Rick – you bet πŸ™‚

  • LBJ

Wow. What a great photograph. This is why I love HDR’s. I can nearly feel the sunlight!
