The Red Room

Does anyone else remember the Red Room from Twin Peaks? I was a real fan of that show and saw every one. The Red Room was this perfectly insane place that came out of David Lynch’s mind. All the scenes inside were filmed in reverse, and the lines were spoken backwards. They were then played backwards (so it appear forwards, but twisted) to give a very creepy feeling to the place. This was where the quirky Agent Cooper visited in many of his strange dreams… It’s also because of Agent Cooper that I give myself a small gift every day, like a nice slice of pie. I wish Lynch would make a new TV series!

This is yet another shot from the Crimson Lounge in Chicago. The place was awesome. I took a ton of shots and I probably could have taken even more!

Also, we have a new sponsor of the site here – I have a review coming up in the next Newsletter that will talk more about it. In short, it’s like Netflix for lenses! Very cool idea… It’s a great way to try out all those lenses that you’ve always wondered about or wanted!

The Red Room

  • Awesome, Trey. Almost 3D. BorrowLenses are great, I’ve used them and, as I live practically next to them, renting a lens is as easy at it gets. I highly recommend them.

Through the darkness of future past…

    Very, very cool shot!

  • actually, I saw David Lynch sitting in the chair on the left -but then dissapeared….

  • Looks like an inviting place to have a chat! Very nice photo, Trey. Will you please post on this site when you get ready to send out the newsletter. I only got the first one, wondering if they are going into my spam file, which I don’t check. Thanks!!

  • I checked the pic out before reading your post and felt like I was a teenager again watching Twin Peaks!! David Lynch is a genius!!

Man From Another Place: “This is the waiting room. Would you like some coffee? Some of your friends are here.”

    Awesome pic!! Thanks!

  • Thanks! Hehe glad to see there are other Twin Peaks fans out there!

Gail – that is strange you only got one newsletter. I am working on the third one now. I’ll be sure to include links to the previous ones in it! 🙂

  • Luis Martich

Trey — I only got one newsletter as well. Do I sign up again ?

  • casusan

Wow – cool shot Trey! I got both newsletters!

  • I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don’t plan it. Don’t wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men’s store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.

It’s what I do everyday. Nice capture of the red room, BTW.

  • Luis,

No – you should be good… I will link to the old newsletters next time and make an announcement when the newsletter goes out so you can be ready! 🙂

  • Thanks for the inspiration. You know, you need a tutorial on “HDR” blog creation. That whole thing is so arcane it is insane. Just for fun, I did my own web site MANY years ago (it is still there) but life is too short to do what you have done here. See: and (slect Butch’s backyard build).

YES. Twin Peaks. Lovingly known also as: Twenty Freaks! I used to LOVE watching that show — as each week it got weirder and weirder. LOL!

  • This picture is just awsome…
