Louis and the Ferris Wheel

Daily Photo – Louis and the Ferris Wheel

I always wanted a good ferris wheel shot! It’s surprisingly hard to shoot these things. You would assume that it’s just a slam dunk with a long exposure and spinning lights… but it’s not that easy! I’ve thrown away hundreds… until finally it worked out magically one night in Lyon.

    That’s a jawdropper! WOW! Bravo!!

  • OOOH!!!!! Pretty. 🙂

  • Wow! Awesome!

What I’d like as a new feature on a DSLR is a dialog where you can specify a range of values, set the camera on a tripod, and have it take a number of frames within those set parameters. It would teach us a lot about what works for different situations and it would do without tons of manual adjustments.

For example the ability to set it to: 15 pictures, EV -2/3, 1/2 sec to 30 sec at ISO 100. The result would be 15 pictures at 1/2 sec, 1 sec, 3 sec, etc, etc, calculating the proper aperture. That could be called time priority multiple, or something. Also necessary would be aperture priority multiple, etc.

  • Your Photo imagery rocks, however as we see Lijit is using your site as part of its marketing, we want to advise Publishers Union of Bloggers currently advise Publishers hold off installing any Lijit Software on their blogs pending promised transparency from Lijit concerning revenue (which you are cool with not getting and is duly noted), and more importantly, Lijit’s current ‘terms of use’ which gives Lijit free reign concerning use of your content once our Publishers install Lijit Software into their blog.

Any thoughts on these critical issues for Pub’s, pass it on, all appreciate it.
