Structures of Italy
Ancient Roman Golden Arches
This was taken around midnight in the Ancient Roman Forum. These are the natural colors that came about from the exposure length and from the HDR effect.
The Pantheon by Night
This is the Pantheon in Rome. I took this the same night as the taxi strike, when I had to pay a guy on a motorcycle to take me back to my hotel. He ended up refusing payment, but it was a cool ride anyway. It was nerve-wracking with my camera and MacBook Pro in my backpack as we ripped through the streets.
Ruins with Cats
These ruins in Rome are full of at least 50 cats… Someone commented in Flickr and said they are feral and fed by local Roman women. Either way, it is strange to look down inside and see all that feline activity.
More Churches of Italy
The top picture here is the Santa Maria Maggiore, the basilica that was across the street from my hotel in Rome. The second shot is from the interior of one of the side-chapels. The last is a little collage I made of my Churches of Italy set on Flickr.

Colosseo Enigmo
I rarely do artistic collages, but this one came out very nice. I would like to have this put onto a wall mural at some point, although I have no really long plain wall on which to place it. The picture looks “okay” small, but click here for the large version on black.
The Capitoline Hill at Night
That glowing area is the Capitoline Hill above the Roman Forum where Brutus and Cassius retreated after the tyrannicide of Julius Caesar.
Colosseum, Reflected
The setting sun caught something pink in the clouds during this long exposure and I ended up with this strange but cool artifact on the right side of the picture there…
