This was taken at the docks of Napoli early one morning.

Morning Rainstorm over Vesuvius and Pompeii

On the morning I left Naples, I went to the top of my hotel to eat breakfast on the roof, and I saw these incoming clouds and a rain over Vesuvius. So, naturally, I had to grab my ever-present camera.

Sunrise at the Docks of Naples

Here is one of the best pictures I took in Naples. This was taken about 6 AM near the ballistrade to the Castle d’Ovo, overlooking the docks and Mount Vesuvius in the background, along the Amalfi Coast.

Castle Black

This is the Castle Nuovo in Naples. They still use this to carry on a lot of meetings for the city.

A Gothic Church in Naples

Valerio and Sergio brought me to this church. This is actually where Valerio got married. It was awfully dark and foreboding, much like his marriage.

Rough Hewn Stone and Glass

And here is one of the stained glass windows from the inner cloister.

Fresco in the Hall

This was taken at Santa Chiara in Naples… They had these kind of frescos all over the walls in every direction…

Navigli Canals in Milan

This was taken during the evening I spent wandering around the old part of Milan, near a special canal that was built to bring stones to the Duomo.

Sinking Ruins

Our boat captain was lamenting that this was a very unique Roman ruin and there was very little conservation going on… just a lot of shirtless (and upon zooming, rather chubby) Italian men doing cannonballs off the top level.

More Churches of Italy

The top picture here is the Santa Maria Maggiore, the basilica that was across the street from my hotel in Rome. The second shot is from the interior of one of the side-chapels. The last is a little collage I made of my Churches of Italy set on Flickr.

Four Caves of Napoli

This is a part of the rougher part of the Amalfi Coast where waves have torn away four huge caves in the sea wall. It’s hard to see how huge these caves are, but each one is over 100 feet tall.
