Part 2 China Interview.

Cool shot of the boats Trey – I still remember that one you took in the early morning light there – it’s a favorite of mine and like some awesome chinese painting. Although you tell the story in a funny way – I am sure it hurt! You need to get one of those lights on a cap when you go out in the dark!

excellent shot. Espically considering the flat light from the fog you had to work with

Not a bad result Trey considering the weather, well done! As for your painful tumble, ouch!… did your cameras receive much damage?

I love China – spent about 6 months in Beijing and loved every bit. Got a gallery on my site (click my name) but all these China photos make me desperate to go back!

Yeah, good idea, Susan. My hubby has a baseball cap in chamo, of course, with lights fixed on the bottom side of the bill. That’s what you need, Trey. No one would even notice them ;-) . I guess this photo was worth it, but I’m not sure :-O !! Neat how you can see the fog in the trees. The boats are interesting. Thanks for sharing and be careful out there!!!!! (Your other “mom” nagging you in Montana, lol)

    Thanks!

Simon – oh I forgot to say… the cameras were just fine… I was really shocked!

sad to hear your story ….
the picture has a great atmosphaere, but again distorted (look at the riverline in the background) and some vignetting…. guess both a product of your wide angle lens. As you do usual so much work in photoshop, this to adjust is an easy task.

I really like the sharpness of the boats against the buildings in the background – i’m with Reinhardt it’s quite an atmospheric image. This was my first impression when I looked at it – great work.

Rib injuries are nasty – i’ve had them before and they are no fun at all – I hope it didn’t ruin your adventures too much. In light of this maybe you should consider upgrading your rib cage to a super-durable magnesium alloy shell similar to your trusted cameras.

Trey, I have to admit that the images are awesome, but I do enjoy your dry wit
“It was too bad because I’ve always treasured that area.” Funny stuff.

The cameras were fine?!?!? Amazing…nice work as usual!

From the description, I’m very impressed to hear the cameras were totally fine! We’re all hoping you have a speedy recovery of your man-nipple area. Please though… no pictures.
I like the composition and inherent tranquility in this shot. It doesn’t look like HDR though. No need in such flat light I would think.

Wow, that sounds painful. Hope you’re doing better now. We’ve all fallen hard (or will), but I usually land on my ass – three times on one hike in Alaska. Our guide even called me out as an example to the group, saying that was the proper way to fall. I repeated the technique one snowy day in Zion National Forest.

It’s good to know I have a talent.

This is one of my worst nightmares. I’m really glad your equipment is alright – those Nikons are built like tanks. So landing on your camera has got to hurt. But hey, you got a great shot – the price you pay sometimes, right?

You have a way of making a person feel like they’re standing there in your scene. Love all your photos, you really have a gift for turning the 2-dimensional into the 3-dimensional!
