Testimonials

“Trey inspired me. Opened up a whole new world and made me believe that, hey, I can do this.” – Peter Lemieszewski, New York

“Best value per session of training I’ve ever received.” – Eddie Clark, TX

“Even if you think you know everything about HDR it is still worth to attend the course.” - Adam Jurgilewicz, Poland

“I think the course was a brilliant mix of HDR skills, PS skills, and a better approach to photography.” - Cliff Scott-Williams, Illinois

“Everyone should take this course. There’s plenty there for beginners and for ‘experts.’ I am an ‘old school’ photographer. I started 55 years ago. I loved learning these new techniques to use in my digital darkroom. It sure beats the old darkroom with all the chemicals equipment.” – Kaz Ochi, California

“A wonderful experience – challenging, educational and fulfilling. As the last session concluded I felt a sense of loss knowing we would not be visiting with Trey again in a “next session”.  The experience was, at least to me, what many must have felt listening to the WW II “fireside chats” with Roosevelt. While I do not intend to copy Trey I do intend to take what he has shared and expand my photographic style in an added direction with HDR. My take-a-way has from the outset has been to be yourself, open your mind to new possibilities, be sensitive to what you may not have seen before  and be creative in a way that is satisfying to me personally.” – Richard deGolian, Illinois

“I have been doing HDR for over 3 years and now I’m ready to go back and reprocess some of my favorites using the techniques Trey shared with us.” – Debi Beauregard, Texas

“I was initially uncertain as to whether to ‘attend’ this webinar. I had purchased Treys’ DVD and wondered why I should spend more money on this. I must say that I enjoyed the webinars even more than the DVD’s & was surprised in how much I learned. Thanks again for an excellent presentation. I did & will continue to enjoy and learn. It was money well spent!!!’ - Jon Barney, Virginia

“In addition to a tremendous leap forward in my HDR photography, he helped me redefine the focus of my photography. I would like to thank Trey for his generous, giving nature. His unselfish attitude about sharing and his confidence that sharing would not diminish his personal potential is extremely refreshing.” - Keith Bradshaw, California

“It was really amazing to get 9+ hours of Trey’s time to learn how he does what he does. Priceless.” – Jeanine Moore, Pennsylvania

“It was well organized, but not ‘slick.’ There was a feeling of being in a classroom with a great prof.” – Ken Parker, California

“This is the best photo editing webinar or course I have ever taken. Trey thank you so much for the info and for the encouragement to express my creativity in new ways.” – Tad Wade, Texas

“Trey has a magical way of teaching that is fairly non-traditional.” – Cliff Baise, Texas

The Lectures…

I think it is important for you to understand the “thinking process” as well as the “photography process”, so I spend the first part of every session talking about the thinking that goes into everything I do, from composition to critiques.

Andrea, who helped me out with the event, got a lot of positive feedback about these sessions.  She sent me this little quote to include here: “While the training on photography and post-processing with Trey are inspiring, and are certain to take your photography to the next level, I think the lectures in the beginning of each session are even more valuable.  To be able to hear from an artist, in his own words, the thought processes behind his work is a mind & eye-opening experience.”

Lesson 1 Topics Discussed:

    - Challenging your photography premises
    - The importance of a deep knowledge of photography so there is no fragility
    - Overcoming the unknown problems and a different approach
    - Why I don’t teach in a step-by-step way
    - Getting outside of the photography bubble
    - The magic of this sort of photography and how people experience the magic
    - Demos - The overall workflow. A quick demo that shows all the steps I go through when making a photo.
    - Q&A - What mistakes do you see people commonly making when creating an HDR photo? JPG vs. TIFF in workflow?

Lesson 2 Topics Discussed:

    - The forums and the experience of learning together.
    - Autobracketing
    - How to set up a NIkon
    - How to set up a Canon
    - Taking the photos – settings
    - When to use 3+ brackets
    - Bracketing versus RAW files
    - Demos - 3 different Photomatix processing examples
    - Q&A - Composing for HDR photos, color space, the importance of megapixels in cameras, the histogram

Lesson 3 Topics Discussed:

    - How and why to share your photos online
    - How to take criticism and how what to expect
    - Don’t let the technical side of things over-influence the artistic side
    - Demos - Critiques Critiques Critiques. Also how to make short cuts. Plus double-tone mapping demo.
    - Q&A - Do I need a wide angle lens? Chromatic aberration fixing?

Lesson 4 Topics Discussed:

    - Layers and post-processing
    - The Pixel Peeping SS, the CA Police, and the Noise Gestapo
    - A new way to think about Chromatic Aberration and Noise
    - How the eye works and how Photomatix gets some of it right
    - Where Photomatix breaks down
    - How we remember Impressions rather than photos
    - Demos - Layers in Photoshop and Layers in Elements + some Silver Efex Pro and Photomatix
    - Q&A - Are you afraid of your images getting copied online? How do you take photos without people in them? When you go out, do you plan to take HDR Photos? How can I get my photos to have that WOW factor?

Lesson 5 Topics Discussed:

    - Composition and setting up for shots
    - Using color in composition
    - Wide angle and lens choice for composition
    - Demos - Creating and cropping a too-wide photo from London
    - Q&A - How do you get rid of noise at night (2 demos shown)? What about getting releases? How do I hide/show layers?

Lesson 6 Topics Discussed:

    - How to not be intimidated
    - How most people in the world are pretending
    - What Photomatix is good and bad at
    - Demos - Countless Photomatix processing sessions including several single RAW photos. Also a full alpha to omega single RAW file.
    - Q&A - How do you make a blog post (a full example shown)? Extreme low light situations? How do you get into the “flow” of photography? The idea of oversaturation vs. rich colors? How do you get press passes? What do you do in extremely low light situations?

Lesson 7 Topics Discussed:

    - Learning by guessing, trying, and making mistakes
    - My forest image and a challenge to guess how it was created
    - Many many tools

Lesson 9 Topics Discussed:

    - Breakdown of the forest photo
    - Correcting the Louvre photo
    - How to find new thoughts by examining and studying other photos.
    - Demos - Three new photos that show advanced techniques.
    - Q&A - Lightroom and Bridge… He uses a LOT of keywords – does he just create those on the fly or use some other technique? Was the shuttle picture an HDR or single picture? Why doesn’t Trey just use the Dodge tool to lighten it up rather than mask in another scene? What camera does Trey recommend nikon D3X or D3S? Please keep in mind this is for an all around photographer and not just landscape, but also for stuff like weddings too? why does Trey use Bridge as part of his processing regime?
When you “combine” the layers, is it the same as to “flatten” the image? Why would noise reduction help hand holding, rather than “align images”? Why doesn’t he simply drag the photos into Photomatix? How many catalogues does Trey use in Lightroom? Does he create a new catalogue for each trip or location?

Images Processed During Class

Below represents a small sampling of all the images that were processed during the class to give you an idea of the range.

Distant Rocks Off IbizaI gave the class 138 of my original RAW photos, right out of the camera. Their assignment was to begin working with these ones off Ibiza. I made this during class, so I wanted to go ahead and post it here. BTW, if you're having trouble logging into the Clubhouse to get the files, be sure to contact support@stuckincustoms.com. I took photos all throughout the sunset, before and after. I visited this spot 3 different times. Of the three times, this was one of the best. There was about a quarter-mile strip of beach and rock, all of which had good angles. So I kind of worked my way back and forth as the light changed... Read more here at the Stuck in Customs blog.

The Prismatic CathedralIn the webinar, I gave people a small set of images for homework. This is the second of the two sets (the first I posted yesterday). I didn't mean for both to be from Spain, but I guess they are! Anyway, I thought it was kind of fun for people all over the world to be processing my images while I am processing them... kind of strange but cool. I will try to post things on a regular basis as we work on them together.Read more here at stuckincustoms.com.

The Silent Temple of ZhangjiajieHere's another photo that I worked on during last night's webinar class. It was a tough one! I was going through many different examples, and this was a good example of one of those mixed-light situations. It's so easy and wonderful to experience in person, but so difficult to capture otherwise.I took this in the middle of a serious trek in Zhangjiajie, deep in the southern part of China. It was one of the hardest single-day treks of my life. This part in the lowland forest was not too tough because it was relatively flat. There were little path problems here and there, but nothing too major. Most of the problems involved walking up and down these bitches. I probably should not call them that, but, honestly, when you are walking up on down them, it's one of the words that keeps popping into your mind.In a single day, I walked up and down those things twice, each time passing through these lowland forests... this was the calm before the storm of the ascent, and this little temple brought me some temporary peace.Read more here at the Stuck in Customs blog.

The Chocolate ShoppeSome regulars know that I'm into gourmet chocolate. This is both good and bad because sometimes when I show up to events, people bring me chocolate from all over the world! And then, I get back to my hotel room, and I'm heavily laden with chocolate... and then the post-midnight haze sets in while I'm editing photos, and I start thinking, "Hmmm, I wonder what that 37% cocoa from Liberia tastes like..." And then it's a very slippery slope. Here's another that I processed the other evening while people looked on... This is a chocolate shop in London that I found by accident called the Rabot Estate. I bought a lot of stuff here, and it didn't last very long. I also had a very nice cup of drinking chocolate while flipping through some chocolate books in the back. I found out there is a chocolate resort somewhere in the Caribbean.. it's like a regular Caribbean resort that also happens to be on a cocoa plantation. The Barcelona AirportThis is another reason I like to get to airports early. Not only do I hate being rushed, but I like to take time to explore with my camera. Well, I guess that only is in the case where the airport happens to be particularly beautiful, like the one here in Barcelona. I always start out extremely rushed, because I picture security closing down on me from every angle. So, my first shot is usually rushed and not perfectly centered. Then, if the guards don't gang-tackle me like I'm streaking at Yankee Stadium, then I keep adjusting my position and the camera until things are more and more aligned and composed to my satisfaction. This one was even a little bit tilted, but I fixed that bit with the crop tool later in Photoshop (as people saw).Read more here at the Stuck in Customs blog.

The Gentle Path to the BeyondThe little train that carried me into Hakone started winding through misty mountains. The trees were thick and a fog was rolling in. I had a feeling that it would stay wet, moody, and fairly perfect. It had that heaviness that made you feel like it would remain like that for a few days, and it did. Before I get on train rides, I have a wonderful but dangerous habit of loading up with pastries. Train stations seem to have nice little selections of all sorts of foreign twists on the usual subjects. And, since I consider myself an explorer, I thought it would be good to get a TON of pastries and try them all. It's very nice... sitting there... looking out the train window at a new land... rain falling... eating pastries... (and I'm only a little ashamed to say that, upon arrival, my pastry bag was empty.)from the blog at www.stuckincustoms.com

The Gaudi Cheesecake FactoryI was stuck doing handheld shots all over this awesome Gaudi house because the PR staff would not let me use a tripod. They also said I was not allowed to post any photos of the house on my blog. I told them this was absolutely ridiculous and of course I would post photos on the blog. They said it was not ridiculous and I should really listen. I then said, "But everyone else is here taking photos and posting on Facebook and Flickr!, right?" And they said, "Oh, well, they shouldn't be doing that either."Anyway, I just don't deal well with that kind of insanity... I found this place to be quite beautiful, and I wanted to share it with you anyway. If you want to see it yourself, visit the Casa Bastilo in Barcelona. Oh, I know.... PR team at Gaudi... this is so terrible... #1 Travel Blog in the world showing a beautiful photo of your property and encouraging people to go... This really is as horrible as you imagined.Read more here at stuckincustoms.com.

Were you looking for the free text HDR Tutorial?  That’s here on the site too.  Many people like to augment that with the video tutorial below!

Awesome Trey! Really excited about this!

  • Jackie Burrell

I would love to join, but just can’t afford it

  • Agustin Rafael C. Reyes

    Ouch… HDR is really expensive

  • Jen Allan

I too would love to join, but sadly cannot afford it, like Jackie :(

  • http://www.chasingcubesoflight.com.au Jason Cook

    Hi Trey,

I’ve already bought your downloadable tutorial and that was awesome. What extra value can I get from this webinar?

  • Tom A J Hardin

I cannot afford it either, at this time with all going on around me. Still have job with insurance and am happy to say that 9 yrs with same firm should pay better.
Please keep me on your newsletter and enjoy hearing from you occasionally on FB.
    Your TEXAN Friend

  • Chase C

    Wish I could afford it……..

  • Michael H.

Do you know what days of the week?

  • Craig

Just signed up….CAN NOT WAIT ? Will this get me a private visit to Trey’s house ? :)

  • Dolores Randell

If it were less expensive I would sign up in a heartbeat. However, I am considering it for a later time. Please keep me on your list. Your work is awesome!!!!

  • Carol Smith

I have a similar question as Jason. I have already gone through the 4 DVDs that I purchased from you. What would be the value add of the webinar. I am ready to sign up, but I don’t want just a repeat of the DVDs (which I enjoyed immensely).

  • http://www.stuckincustoms.com Trey Ratcliff

    Thanks!

As for nights of the week, it will be on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday….repeating.

If you already own the DVD, then you’ll find this is a bit more of an expansion on those themes. For one thing, it’s 9 hours long, which is more than twice as long as the DVDs. Also, there will be homework between each session, which adds a different element, as well as just a “lot more” demonstrations, tricks, screencasts, and photography theory/creativity approach.

  • Dennis

Thanks so much for the opportunity. Just a couple of questions:
1.) The Signup page says “Early Signup Group (limited time)”. How limited is the time? It doesn’t say so I’m wondering until when do I have to sign up at the $197 price?

2.) Under “What is included?” it says … “We’ll even make a special section just for the class where you can download any sessions that you missed.”
Does that mean we can actually download the video as in a hard copy to keep, or just view it via streaming but not have a hard copy to keep? I’m in doubt because further down it says “If you miss a class, no worries, you’ll be able to see it after inside the private forum.” which sounds more like you’ll have access to it but won’t actually be able to download it.

    Hi Trey,
I’d love to sign up but being in Australia the times just don’t work out, I’d have to take days off work. Can i sign up and watch on a delayed telecast?

    Trey,

Your pictures of HK and China have induced me to go. My wife and I will be there for the month of May. I sure do wish you’ll run this again over the summer, so I can attend. I’d sign up in a second.

    Steve

  • Andrea

Hi All! I’ll be helping Trey out with the webinars, and I can’t wait! For our friends in other time-zones, we definitely encourage you to sign up. We’ll have the webinars posted pretty quickly after each of the live sessions, so you’ll be able to watch them at a time more convenient for you. You’ll still be able to keep up with the class, and participate in the Clubhouse discussions, too.

  • http://www.danroads.com Dan

Nice one Trey! And Hi Andrea :) .

I have the same Q. as Dennis sais… I’d sign up if I knew it’s going to be able to download like a podcast? As I work allot now and am scared I won’t have the time to catch it before it goes and all that.

    Awesome, can’t wait :)
    Dan

  • http://www.toddlangille.com Todd

I’m In. Save me a place till tomorrow. I’ve already received $197 worth of HDR training just from checking into your website on a regular basis. Can hardly wait to learn some secrets :)

  • http://www.maletic.org dusanmal

Expensive…yes. Still contemplating as knowing your work I find it appropriately pricey.
I second Dennis and Dan questions:
1)Meaning of: “Early Signup Group (limited time)” ?
2)Is material downloadable for use later and much later ?

  • http://1138Studios.com Thelonious Gonzo

I’m probably going to sign up no matter how you answer the question – BUT – I also would like to download the sessions so I can go over them later. I get why you may be hesitant to do this, so as long as I have endless access to them anytime I want for the next – oh, 10 years or so, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Also – will this class show me how to make my pictures look like I was in Iceland and China like yours do? I can’t figure out how to get Photomatix to do that.
    Sincerely.

  • http://www.stuckincustoms.com Trey Ratcliff

    Sorry it was not clear.

If you are signed up, the classes ARE DOWNLOADBLE after the class.

As for “limited time” — it will change probably a week or so before the webinar begins — Andrea is running this bit for me.

  • Dennis

I’ve been following Trey’s free postings and more recently videos, podcasts, etc. for over a year now. Like Todd, I feel like what I’ve gotten in FREE learning so far is way beyond the cost of the Webinar. From what I’ve seen of Trey, I’ll bet the webinar is going to be a blast, and we’re all going to learn a lot not only about HDR & photography, but the visual arts in general. The fact you can download and review the classes later is icing on the cake. I say go for it! I signed up yesterday. Thanks again Trey, for everything you share on the site, through interviews, podcasts, etc. Um grande abraço do Brasil!

  • http://1138Studios.com Thelonious Gonzo

Home work? So there’s a chance I can FAIL the webinar? Ah Geez.
Do we get unlimited access to exotic models or free use of your camera bag?
Do we get personal access to World Leaders and assorted Photoganati like Lisa Bettany?
CAN WE GROK MATT GROENING IF WE SIGN UP EARLY ENOUGH?!

What the heck. I’m signing up right now.
See you round the cyber class room Trey.

sidenote: If I pass notes to Lisa during class do I have to stay after and pop erasers or type “I will not flirt with Lisa Bettany” 100 times in a Word Doc?

  • http://markus.alyra.org/ Savanni D’Gerinel

What software is necessary for the video portion of the webinar? I use Ubuntu Linux exclusively on my systems and have access to Chromium and Firefox for web browsers. If those work, I’m totally in. I may be in, anyway, but watching the videos offline.

  • Todd B

    Hi Trey,

EXTREME beginner to HDR & Photoshop- would this webinar be too much for me- or just right?

Let me know when you can,

    Thank you,

    Todd B.
    Geneva, Suisse

  • http://www.stuckincustoms.com Trey Ratcliff

I find that most people are really beginners, and there is enough time to cover everything from the beginning… and you can watch the first parts over and over again until you understand it… even though I’m pretty sure you will right away!

    Hi Trey,

    I just signed up.

I have an old version of Noiseware standalone (V2.6). Is it worth upgrading to the current version, or is v2.6 good If I’m upgrading, do you recommend the standalone version or the Photoshop plug-in. I alternate between Photoshop and the GIMP, so I might have occasion to run the program as a standalone but I can always pass it between Photoshop and the GIMP in PSD or TIFF format.

    Thanks!

  • Andrea

Thelonious-I’m so glad you signed up! You’re hilarious, and it will be fun having you on the webinars. This class will do everything on your wishlist, except you may have to actually go to Iceland & China to make your photos look like they came from there. But I’ll speak with Photomatix to see what they can do. ;)

  • Andrea

Dennis-I love your enthusiasm! Looking forward to seeing you on the webinars.

  • Andrea

Savanni-You sound way more technical than I am, but the webinar will work with Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and I’m assuming Internet Explorer (I haven’t used IE for years). All you need to attend is an Internet connection and one of those browsers. Easy! Looking forward to having you in class. :)

  • http://minhtanphamphotography.com Minh Tan

I think these classes will be far from excellent. Since when can you have classes with a famous and good photographer at this price. Other photographers would charge hundreds if not thousands just for one session with them. It works out as about $29 per hour and that’s pretty good given that other photographers WILL charge hundreds of dollars. Everyone SHOULD sign up while they can because this basically can be your once in a life time opportunity and the opportunity to be above the rest. I definitely can’t wait for this, first time having a class with a photographer, but what’s even better my favourite.

Andrea, will there be any kind of interactivity with Trey during the webinar? I can imagine that might get pretty hectic live with all the attendees (or would that be webinees?)? It might interesting if there were some kind of channel to at least send in questions after the class. Trey could review those and maybe pick one or two to answer in a short Q&A session at the beginning of the next class, or possibly through a Comments section like this one.

I’m really looking forward to this webinar! Somehow when I registered, SIC linked to an old email address I rarely access. Can you change my email to the one provided with this comment? It’s the same one where I get the newsletter and all the other SIC announcements. I’ll be in Japan for most of May with uncertain access to the internet (high-speed). I realize I can download later each of the modules. What about Club access? Is that only after each class, or is there access at other times? One last question, will I be able to download the modules in June?

    thanks, Joseph

  • David

Just got the ok from the finance controller (wife) and have signed up – cant wait so excited, even if getting to the live show may be a problem from Oz.

  • http://www.lenseyeviewphotography.com/ Len

Just signed up. Can’t wait. Can one of the prizes be to accompany you on one of your photo trips? I might even be willing to be your assistant!

  • Eric

Just signed up… now I feel all funny inside!

  • Bernie

I’m a country boy from Arkansas, but now living and working way out in SE Asia. Been following your work for a long time and was elated to see the webinar idea. My girlfriend and I are completely stoked to be joining this webinar from Singapore! Feel like doing some sort of happy chicken dance around the house now. Probably shouldn’t. Keep up the inspirational work!

I guess there are too many others who can’t afford this to ask for a “grant.” I suppose I’ll man up and pay the price. But, I’d better win a prize! :-)

Looking forward to winning lots of HDR/Photoshop knowledge and insight.

By the way, is there any chance this series will be made available on DVD for a nominal fee to those who paid for the webinar?

  • http://www.stuckincustoms.com Trey Ratcliff

Thanks! Donna – I have not decided about that yet — but we will see when the whole thing is over.

I think you’ll have a great time, and if you don’t we always give all your money back… no problem ! :)

  • Joe Lalonde

I’m thinking about having my wife sign up for this. Is this for a certain skill level or can beginners learn quite a bit from this also?

    Hi Trey,
I’m a HDR fanatic and i’ve previously purchased your book, the full 4 dvd set, Topaz, onone, ps5, noiseware pro, photomatix, 100 cameras in one and everything else that you have recommended over the last 2 years, is there much to learn from the classes for someone like myself?

  • PeterG

    Hi Trey,
I finally decided and signed up for the event. It will be a great opportunity for me to catch the sunrise after each webinar. Sleep is overrated anyway…

  • Graham Parker

    Hi
I have just been sent this email from you as I am a subscriber to your news letter.
The link took me to this page and I was wondering what the “FREE” part means in the subject line.

    From: Trey Ratcliff
Subject: Free Tutorial, Time Running out on Training Webinar
    Date: 4 May 2011 09:10:45 GMT+01:00
    To: Graham Parker
    Thank you

  • http://www.pshots-photography.com Phil

Already signed …. Will see/hear us next week. According my timezone

  • Brian

Expensive for an online class. Wish I could afford it.

  • http://www.jacquesgude.com Jacques

At least it won’t be Mother’s Day in my time zone (Berlin, Germany), so I suppose my better half should be ok with it. Still, it does mean a 3am (Berlin time) session for me. Ouch! Still, very tempting. I feel like Winnie the Pooh right now… “Think, think, think…” Only a day before price goes up…

  • Jerry

    Trey,
Is the NAPP discount available for the webinar?

  • http://www.stuckincustoms.com Trey Ratcliff

    Thanks!

Jerry – No sorry mate… NAPP and I have no association.

Jacques – comon you know you want to! :)

Graham – Oh the FREE part was referring to the Tutorial I released about a week ago about making that video… sorry did not mean that this thing is free.

Chris – I think you’ll still get a lot out of it… it’s 9 hours with me, after all – and if you don’t pick up some really practical stuff, there is always the 100% money-back guarantee!

  • http://stephaniewtomey.com Stephanie

I can’t wait for this to start and since I’m sure Mother’s Day is probably creeping up on my family and they will forget a nice present, I think I should win a really cool prize! Don’t you?!?
Ok, I’m getting ready to sign up…….now!

  • Mike

    Trey,
Would love to signup as I recently purchased some of your .PDF documents in a bundle package, but ALL of the images were missing in the electronic files I received and I found that very disappointing to say the least. Given that most of the people who have commented on this tend to be in my category (I.e. Interested in HDR and knowledgable about photography on some level) I also agree that $200 is expensive for tutorials aimed at beginners in HDR. I wish the price was more “appropriate” as I would really like to learn more.

P.S. I have the confirmation # for my recent purchase where I didn’t get the materials I was expecting if you want me to prove it. Like I said, disappointing that your documents were absent of the most critical piece – the actual images !!!)

    Signed, a disheartened customer.
    Cheers,
    M.

  • Barb

I would love to take this class, but I’ll be out of the country for two weeks (with spotty internet access) starting Tuesday the 10th. Can I sign up now, then come back and do the whole thing when I get back? I’ll take lots of bracketed photos as I travel, with high hopes to make them *pop* with HDR.

I’ll wait for your thumbs-up before registering.

    Thanks!

    Barb

  • http://www.stuckincustoms.com Trey Ratcliff

Mike – that doesn’t make any sense that you got all the PDFs and none of the images! I’ll contact support on your behalf and make sure you get a new file. Also, you get some bonus because 2 days ago we just added a 20 minute high-def video to that package. I don’t understand why you don’t see the images… but no worries, I’ll have support take care of this for you right away.

Barb – you’ll still be able to get all the class videos for several weeks after the class ends… it is not a problem at all! :)

    Thanks again all.

  • Melinda

Looking forward to learning more about HDR. Still haven’t received an email on how to link up with the class.

  • Andrea

Hi Melinda! I’m writing that up as we speak. Look for it midday tomorrow (Central time) with the webinar link. Welcome to the class!

  • Patrice

    Hi Trey,
I’m trying to sign up for your class (Wed May 4th) but Paypal system doesn’t seem to be working properly and I keep getting bumped out. Will try again later but hope you will honor the discount price if I can’t get it to work before tomorrow. Really excited about the class AND feel that it’s an excellent price for 9 classes!!
    Thank you,
    Patrice R.

I’m really excited about the class! I just need to find a way to get another trial of Adobe Photoshop (as I haven’t been able to afford that yet – here is to hoping this comment wins me a copy!). I do have Lightroom 3 and Photomatix 4 though so hopefully that will be enough to follow along.

Been following you for years now Trey – buying books, watching tutorials, following you on here and Facebook, using your iPhone app, switched to SmugMug, and most importantly practicing HDR on my own. It has reinvigorated my photography and I’m really enjoying that. Thanks!

I have Canon gear now (40D + lenses) but am strongly considering switching to Nikon to take advantage of >3 AEB exposures. If Canon doesn’t add some firmware support for HDR (more AEB exposures/control) to their 5DMK2 or 5DMK3 (or lower models) I’ll be switching to the D800 when it finally arrives (if it has some HD video too).

Looking forward to Sunday! I just gotta make that day great for the mothers in my life first (mom and wife) so I can enjoy that first hour guilt free. :)

  • http://dianeholderfieldphotos.com Diane

What a great Mother’s Day gift! I only had to talk about the class a little and then I got an awesome card with a cash card for this class—will remember this gift for a long time!

Still STUCK IN LIMBO… I haven’t received any confirmation/information on the class. My payment for the class cleared on April 10. Help!

Melinda – that is strange! Emails went out yesterday to all customers with the details! Well I have contacted support on your behalf, and they will get back in touch with you.

  • Melinda

Thanks Trey! I am really looking forward to the class and want to make sure I get the link for Sunday.

  • Tim adkins

Crap, I missed the 1st batch. When does the 2nd class start?

  • Bob

I registered and paid for a spot in the second batch but have no info regarding the webinar location and link as yet. It was Saturday Australian time so maybe I missed a mailout.

  • http://www.stuckincustoms.com Trey Ratcliff

Brent and Bob – I’ll contact support@stuckincustoms.com on your behalf and make sure you have the details.

Tim – It’s the same class at the same time — it’s just the second batch of slots we opened up!

Just attended the first webinar session. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! The Grand Prize trip sounds amazing…would love to win!

  • Paula

Class 1 was great – I can’t wait for Tuesday night!

  • Taylor Deyton

As a “newbie” to this process I am super excited to have the opportunity to learn from one of the industry leaders in HDR! Can’t wait!

  • Dennis

Trey – fantastic webinar! That was a phenomenal experience. I would encourage anyone who is undecided to jump in and sign up. It really brings the whole process to life and is very stimulating. I’m really pumped about getting to work on those images.

Andrea, thanks for asking the question about the best way to frame an image. Trey’s answer was really insightful. BTW, I didn’t see the survey form you mentioned. My webinar feed just closed. Would very much like to get into the clubhouse to download the files but have not received instructions so far. It’s almost midnight here and I’ve got to be up early tomorrow so will check back Monday morning. Thanks for everything.

  • Dennis

Oops! Should have waited a few seconds more. Thanks for the clubhouse instructions. Will download those photos tonight!

  • Skip Besaw

    Trey,

Great start tonight. Look forward to giving the homework a shot. Also business travel me has me out of pocket for a few classes so the Webinar downloads are key to my keeping up. Nice job!!

  • Jim Zimmermann

Damn you Trey!! I have run hot and cold with various forms of photography for over 40 years, buying studio lights, macro lenses, panoramics, etc. All come and go. Now you have me thinking and seeing in HDR every moment of every day. I bought the download class a couple of months ago and my first 13×19 HDR image came off my printer and I was hooked. It now hangs in a studio and will hopefully be joined by many more HDR shots. I love it and love the webinar. I dropped my Mom off early from Mothers Day dinner just to get to the computer for class one. See you Tuesday.

  • Rob Hartley

Wonderful first class tonight! Thank you trey…you did a great job!

But, not a problem… I will go ahead and forward your notes to support@stuckincustoms.com on your behalf, and you will get a personalized response.

I really enjoyed the class last night. It went by way too fast, the homework is great as it is keeping everything on the front burner (fun). Thank you for showing us your work flow using Lightroom and Bridge, this is going to help me so much. See you Tuesday !

  • Kelly

Will you be offering this again in the future? either as a live webinar or as a downloadable option? I do not have the time to spend with you in May, but would be able to do it in the summer/fall. Thanks!

  • Mike

Really looking forward to this class, had to miss the first but I catch up quickly

Thanks for putting these classes on Trey

I haven’t received any info about how to download the webinar I missed on May 8th or info on how to access the “Clubhouse”. Please advise.

  • Sue B

Despite multiple emails for the past three days I still haven’t received a response to my request on how to download the 5/08 webinar or access the “Clubhouse”. Not one single email from your support staff. Is anyone there???!!

Trey, will you be offering this webinar again? I’d like to take it, but this month is just too busy.

  • http://DebiBeauregard713-204-2314Beauregard Debi B

To all those who can’t afford the webinar: Start by downloading the trial version of Photomatix. Get out there and shoot, shoot, shoot. If you can’t afford the DSLR camera, then do one shot HDR’s until you get the hang of it. Watch Trey’s free tutorials and comb the Stuckincustoms website for tips and techiques. Once you get hooked, you will find out that you can’t afford NOT to sign up for the webinar. Start saving now because you’re all going to do it, it is just a matter of when. :o )

Set your camera or video up with timers and/or remote triggers for the Endeavour launch. It is a once in a lifetime event that even my 26-year old “jaded” son said was “simply awesome”. I have had the privilege of seeing both a nighttime and daytime shuttle launch recently. You don’t want to be behind your camera lens when Endeavour lights those candles. The visual and then… wait for it… the sound. I have some okay shots from the causeway, but have seen press pass shots that are terrific.
Two sites that are worth taking note are: http://www.lauderdalechristmas.com/nasa-shuttle-launch.htm and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2VygftZSCs. Watch the youtube video BEFORE the launch. There is power and then there is what you are about to see.
In other words…I hope you don’t miss it. Worth the all the crowds and early morning hours. Nighttime at NASA is pretty cool too. I did get some get nighttime space center shots. Worth the trip.

I just signed up for Batch 2 of your class. Bet it’s worth it too.
I found your sight looking for tips on HDR for the Discovery launch in February. See you in class.

  • Bill

    When will batch 2 begin?

  • http://www.stuckincustoms.com Trey Ratcliff

It’s already going — we only have one set of classes with two price points (early registration was batch 1)

  • Dennis H

Although I have been doing HDR photography for a while I am learning a lot, not only about HDR’s but also Trey’s philosophy about photography. Sometimes we can get to caught up in the nuts and bolts and technical stuff that surround photography. I am learning to step back, relax and enjoy the artistic side..

  • Sierra

I just signed up. Where do I download the ones I missed? I have only gotten an email thanking me for signing up.

  • Michael

Trey – now that your first webinar is finished (i think), will you be offering another 3 week webinar for all of us who missed the last one?

  • http://www.stuckincustoms.com Trey Ratcliff

Thanks all! Now that it is done, we have made the whole thing avail on video… enjoy! :)
