Jessa in the cold rain

This was shot in downtown Austin on a cool day (not like today!)

Firepower

This weekend I went to the Hot Rod and Custom Car show here in Austin. I ran around with my tripod in hyper reflective HDR heaven… the more of these I do, the more I see the world in HDR! :)

Firepower

Ground Zero at the Fireworks

I was contacted by John Polk at Alpha Lee Fireworks here in Austin on account of that fireworks shot that somehow ended up in the Smithsonian — it turns out his company shot those things off. He invited me down on Saturday night behind the scenes of their big fireworks show here in Austin.

John mentioned to me that the fireworks shot got a lot of people he knew interesting in HDR photography… and they all were visiting my HDR Tutorial – cool!

I brought Ethan and we got there about 2 hours before the show. He took about half an hour to show us around the trailers, the shells, the wiring, the firing board, and everything. It was very cool and interesting, especially since I have shot so many of these things to see how it really works backstage.

He then granted Ethan and I up close and personal action while we sat right by the trailers. We wore earplugs because we were so dang close… I used a 10 mm, so you can see the launch point as well as the peak of the explosion here.

Mysterious Byzantium

These were shot here in Austin with Stephanie and Janus at a cool winebar/restaurant called Imperia in downtown.

The 300

We had a company bowling outing this week… We got there about 4:30 PM and it was empty… so of course I had to grab a shot of the crazy colors!

I could not come up with a good title for this because I was thinking about Lost tonight

That show is good… we had a little Lost party at my home to order pizza.  We noticed the pizza arrived 31 minutes after we ordered it.

I don't have a title for this because I am thinking about Lost tonight

Stephanie in the Wine Depository

This was shot in the ultra-cool wine area of ultra-cool Imperia.

Jessa Trapped in the Nexus

Here is Jessa again, meandering in the full spectrum… not that anyone gets tired of her. She looks mysterious while trapped in the Nexus, where she just might eat a carby breakfast with Kirk then go on a horse ride.

This was created after following the new video tutorial entitled “A World of Textures” that I recently put together. Included is also 100 textures, depending on the package you choose.

The Mysterious Shack with the Unusual Flyers

I can’t say I really understand anything about this scary shack I found.

Inside the Pyramids…

Here is another one from the upcoming textures tutorial.

I am actually in Disneyworld this week. I finished the tutorial late last night after everyone was asleep… uploading the huge video files now… very slow uplink connections from the resort here! It should be up… hmmm… dunno… next few days? No one knows…
