Passport Sunday Audio Fun!

Today, Passport Members will get to hear the new podcast first. This one is entitled “Molecules I’ve Ingested: Ayahuasca And Hitler.” Yeah so you’ll be getting a full dose of this story! 🙂 Enjoy!

Ayahuasca And Hitler

In this new Podcast called “Molecules I’ve Ingested” you should find something quite unexpected, hilarious, and educational. Each episode features a crazy story about different molecules I’ve tried, from legal to illegal. Mostly the latter. Anyway, episode 3 is: “Aya and Hitler” and this pod will take you on a journey through the underworld to a completely different reality. This is the full story of my first Ayahuasca ceremony (an ancient tradition from the Amazon where you swallow a combination of natural plant materials) and it’s not for the faint of heart. It is quite hilarious, though, in the sheer lunacy of what I experienced in the altered state… you can hear about different things I learned and figured out about myself, and I throw in some references to Hitler just to keep the mood light. Enjoy and Aho!

Daily Photo – Arcade in London

Here’s another cool spot in London that I found by accident on my walkin’ around day. I try to set aside a few days where I have no responsibilities and I can just get lost. I now live in a little town in the south of New Zealand, so it’s always exciting for me to get to big cities like this. I don’t think I could live there with all that energy all the time, but it is nice to visit.

Street Life in London

Daily Photo – Street Life in London

Here’s a little pre-Covid view of street life in London. I guess I could photoshop little masks on everyone and say I took it yesterday. Actually, I don’t even know if there’s a lot of people out on the streets there, but I suppose there are. I know Stu to runs all the tech and stuff for me is in full lockdown in Scotland… so there’s really none of this going on there, I suspect.

London Shopping

Daily Photo – London Shopping

I don’t shop very much at all, being quite the minimalist, but I do love taking photos of cool shopping areas. A lot of the newer ones have great architecture and cool lights at night. I hate to promote an over-consumerist society, but I guess if you’re a consumerist that you may as well shop in a sweet area!

Daily Photo – Late for The Book of Mormon in London

Unfortunately, I was so into taking photos that I missed the first act of The Book of Mormon in London. I feel bad because I was going with my friend Simon and he was patiently waiting while I was futzing around taking photos… but, at least I ended up with a photo that I liked, even if we did have to sit out the first act. By the way, I can’t recommend The Book of Mormon more!

Daily Photo – The Bridge to St. Paul’s Cathedral

If you ever go to London to take photos, I recommend setting aside a few hours at night to cross back and forth across the Thames on every bridge you can find. They all have cool perspectives, and this one on the way to St. Pauls is one of the most contemporary ones…

Cycling in London

A Fun Edit for today’s Passport Sunday!

This was quite a fun one to edit because of all the movement. If you’re a Passport Sunday member, then you get full access to see the edit!

London Cycle

This one was a little tricky because of all the movement involved. Most of the technique is in prep by choosing which photo you think is the best as a center of action.

Daily Photo – Cycling in London

I happened to be in London on a non-dreary day. With the sunset going crazy I decided that I should get out there and shoot as much as possible. I tend to go to the busier areas because there’s a lot more activity and options, as you can see in today’s photo! If you’re a passport member, then you can see a behind-the-scenes edit of the photo below!

Daily Photo – The London Eye

This iconic building along the Thames turns out to be a little trickier to photograph than one might think. One of the most important things is to try to find a unique angle or something that’s just a little different than every other photo you’ve ever seen.

Rainy Day in Central London

Daily Photo – Rainy Day in Central London

It seems like it rains almost every day in London, so why not head out and take photos? This area between the mayor’s office and the Shard has some incredible lines. It’s really tough to take a bad photo around here because of the shapes and colors. I personally like it even better in the rain since the reflections add another element.

Daily Photo – London just before Dusk

Here’s a new photo I recently finished processing. I took it many years ago, and I’m glad I waited so long. Now that I am using the new Aurora HDR, it has become a heck of a lot easier for me to process these tricky sorts of photos.

The Tate in London

Daily Photo – The Tate in London

I think this was one of the last years that they let people use tripods in here. I remember coming back the next year with some friends and the guards had totally changed their tunes. It’s still such a weird regulation to me. I think most of the reason is that they don’t want people to trip on tripods and fall over, but that almost never happens. And it definitely doesn’t happen in these wide-open spaces like this. I think people are much more likely to trip on a stroller or a myriad of other devices people carry about.
